Jacobs on the Mall in Cork

I discovered Jacob's on the Mall based on a friend's recommendation and held my wedding reception dinner there in 2022, just with my family. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, making everything perfect for our small gathering. Since then, I have visited the restaurant on several occasions, and I can confidently say that the food, service, and atmosphere are all a perfect 10/10. For me, it is one of the best restaurants in Ireland.

Went for our anniversary - was pleasantly surprised with the early bird three course meal selection. Was a wonderful evening and definitely good value for money, the food was amazing!

Great place to dine out for a treat. Definitely not cheap but the food is excellent!! We have been here a few times and it never disappoints.

Was a great restaurant, but has lost ground recently. The dropping of the vegetarian/vegan menu is unfortunate ( there was a vegetarian option on the menu while we we were there but it was uninspired to put it kindly, ). There is also a drop in the quality of the food and service while it is no longer good value for the price.

Food is delicious! I got the soup of the day, which happened to be a lovely carrot and turnip with cream. It had great consistency and the cream perfectly contrasted with the textured topping. The pan fried hake is always my go to, and it has never disappointed. Today, it was served with a tangy chickpea salad which paired beautifully with the milder and less overpowering flesh of the hake. Topped with a spinach and lime sauce, this was phenomenal. For dessert, I recommend the affogato. The expresso with vanilla ice cream is a great way to freshen up, especially after a heavy meal. Only lost points are for not offering tap water unless specifically requested. You will be charged an extra five euro for water otherwise, which seems a bit deceptive. Nevertheless, staff are always very accommodating and friendly. The starter bread itself is also one of my favourites on its own and is baked on site. Would definitely recommend! Edit: raised my rating to 5 stars as Jacobs really does stand out from everywhere else I've dined at in the last weeks!

Mi familia y yo tuvimos una noche maravillosa aquí recientemente. El restaurante era cálido y acogedor, y el personal era atento y amable. Todos disfrutamos de nuestras variadas opciones, en particular el pato y la lubina. Todos los platos estaban muy bien presentados y cocinados a la perfección. Definitivamente volveré.

Birthday dinner food was fabulous best goats cheese I've ever had we were a table of6 adults and 1 child no complaints from any of us except maybe we ate too much lovely bonus of having happy birthday piped on dessert plate and having it sung to me.will have no hesitation in returning staff were very friendly and efficient and didn't rush us we all had a great experience and will definitely return
