John Keogh's in Galway

If you’re looking for a true Irish pub experience, look no further. The atmosphere at John Keogh’s is so cozy and the people are wonderfully welcoming. We had the oysters and the sirloin steak—both were 10/10. Easily one of the best meals we’ve had in the city. Highly recommended!

We had an absolutely wonderful dinner for two at John Keogh’s Gastropub. The sirloin steak was perfectly cooked and full of flavour, the crème brûlée was beautifully done with the ideal caramelised top, and the Red Dot Jameson whiskey was the perfect finishing touch. The atmosphere was warm, cosy, and authentically Irish—exactly what you hope for in a true Irish pub experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Without a doubt, this is the best pub in all of Ireland. Highly recommended!

We had our wedding dinner in John Keogh's private room a few weeks ago and I cannot recommend them highly enough . The food was excellent (the steak went down especially well) , the venue was beautifully decorated and the service from the staff and the owner was second to none. We had a DJ play in the evening and had more family and friends join us then, and everyone had the best night. If you're looking for a venue in Galway for an occasion, you can't go wrong with John Keogh's. Would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Everything was fantastic from food to service to atmosphere. Couldn’t fault a thing! The steak in particular was exceptional! Will definitely be back

This is a very nice pub restaurant. Food was very good, especially the lamp. Portions are large. Staff were very helpful and professional. It's also not too expensive. It's in a good location in town so there other pubs to visit if you want to look around. Two of the best music venues are also in the area. It's close to the Claddagh basin and River Corrib, which are worth a look afterwards if you have not seen them already.

Went with a few friends , food was delicious & staff were top class. The general manger Sophia was great! An asset to the team

Lovely atmosphere and food was really nice. Not very expensive and great quality stuff.

Unfortunately, my experience was not that good. We book a table and in the restaurant they run out almost all food, and oysters too. But the food that we manage to order was tasty.

Service ok, all coffee's were cold.
