This was our first dinner in Galway… A really nice find the atmosphere was classic Irish… The staff were warm, friendly and very personable… The dishes were very delicious fish and chips for two and salmon over risotto for one… The drinks were also very refreshing… We just wanted to sit there and enjoy the atmosphere. Enjoy the Galway hospitality… Tara was our server and the other staff members were just as pleasant and friendly as she was… I highly recommend a stop here… If you want something quieter low-key, but with excellent quality and pure Irish charm, this would be a good location…

We popped in here on the off-chance for food. A lovely large old pub with traditional and seemingly original fittings. It was busy with lots of booth type seating and there was a great atmosphere in early evening on a Friday.
Service was a little confused but all the staff were friendly (perhaps just new as this was June). We were seated (but not given a menu). Checked the menu on our phones. Weren’t sure whether to order at the bar or table. The bar staff member I asked didn’t seem to understand me? I found another staff member that confirmed it was table service.
The menu is the usual pub comfort food. Not a lot of vegetarian but we both ordered the whipped goats cheese and beetroot starter with potatoes (I had Champ, my husband had chips). The whipped goats cheese was delicious! Makes me wonder if my assumption that the menu was “the usual pub comfort food” may have been an underestimation! The waitress didn’t know what champ was but I had a vague idea it was a mashed potato… and it was again delicious- smooth, cheesy mashed potato with spring onions. My husband ate way too much of mine!!
Reasonably priced too😃
I will be back!!

We stumbled upon this place because the other place we were looking for was all booked up, and boy are we glad we did! This was such a warm atmosphere paired with delicious food. The best thing we tried was the sticky pork belly skewers on the appetizer menu. We wish we would have ordered more!! Soooo good. Everything else we got was very good as well. Highly recommend.

Not bad but not great - the food is quite pricey for average pub food. Exception was the lamb shoulder which was delicious.

Great experience. We had a large group and we're well taken care of.
Several had the salmon and chicken disk which everyone enjoyed.

A fantastic pub and restaurant in Galway. Very centrally located. Great selection of beers. The food is first-class and exceptionally good. The service is very attentive, incredibly helpful, and friendly. The ambiance, with its many thoughtful details, also makes this a truly first-class pub. We ate there both evenings during our stay in Galway, and it was superb!

We ate really well but I was extremely disappointed in the amount of time we had to wait by the entrance (about 40 minutes) and at the table (about 30 minutes) before eating since we had booked beforehand. I am still giving 4 stars because the food was very good, the cost adequate and the manager ended up giving us a glass of wine on the house because of the waiting. I'm just saying: don't expect to sit down on time if you have a reservation.

This is a very nice pub restaurant. Food was very good, especially the lamb. Portions are large. Staff were very helpful and professional. It's also not too expensive. It's in a good location in town so there other pubs to visit if you want to look around. Two of the best music venues are also in the area. It's close to the Claddagh basin and River Corrib, which are worth a look afterwards if you have not seen them already.

They have a few dog friendly spots inside near the window. Super accommodating, great food and not too loud inside so you can have a conversation.
