Slightly upscale pub experience. Service was great. Had the fish and chips which was generous portions and cooked well.

The chowder at JW Brasserie was a mixed bag. The fish was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh, but the cream had an unexpected sweetness that wasn't to my liking. My partner got the vegetable soup and she was impressed! On the plus side, the food arrived very quickly! 💨

Ate out here last week. Both main meals were nice. However, got a pot of mussels for the table. Mussels were foul smelling and tasting. Asked the waiter to remove them from the table as the urine smell was very off putting. Told him our concerns and he said the smell was from the sauce and was normal. We were still charged for these unfortunately. Service was good other than that.

A very nice place. Excellent and extremely fast service. Very tasty food and a lot of details in the interior that you want to look at, especially liked the dishes.

We came here 14 years ago with a large group of family after hiking to the top of Mt. Croagh Patrick so we figured a return trip after the same this trip would be worth it. It absolutely was. Food was excellent. Staff was friendly and attentive. Had a great beer and drink selection. We pretty much had a private room for lunch as a walk-in group. Hard to top that.

Sage

15/10/2024: If six stars were available I’d give them in a heartbeat. Absolutely outstanding food but above all the service is a testament to anyone in the business. Hard working yet kind and approachable staff make Sage into a must visit destination for people who want the fine dining experience without the intimidation. I will absolutely be back next time I’m in Westport and I’ll be telling any possible visitors to come here.
