Kai in Galway

Came here for lunch and they had a menu on board with fusion food of Indian and Japanese flavours and Irish ingredients. Always packed so there is a wait for a table. It’s good overall but would like to see more Irish flavours and chunkier portions with meat and fish. Didn’t try the cakes but they looked good.

This was our top meal during our 9-day stay across Ireland. It has a multitude of awards and we now know why! The daily menu is written on the wall. We landed on the beef satay and the falafel dish. Both dishes were bursting with flavor, so much texture and tastes that are so different but blend well together. The portions were generous and we left super happy and wished we had another chance for try the other dishes!

So good, they even gave me an extra piece of bread for my stew leftovers.

We adore this place. The food is always so tasty and the portions are generous. The staff are truly lovely and the cakes are to die for. Honestly can't fault the place we love it very hard.

I ate lunch here and felt so nourished. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is deeply good. I went crazy and ate very decadent-sounding choices but still I felt nourishment, health, and happiness at the end -- that's how good it is. Go order whatever you want and enjoy! Highest recommendation!

If you like fine dining, but don't fancy the prudish atmosphere of most other fine dining establishments, you should definitely come to this place. Eating in a nice, friendly atmosphere makes the food even more delicious, although it's already pretty delicious on its own. We had appetizer, main course and dessert and everything was interesting and delicious. The portions were a good size and you'd be totally full with just one main course (be warned about the chocolate mouse for dessert, it's really huge). Would have it again anytime.

We had lunch at Kai and it was a wonderful experience. We got there early and had a pre-lunch slice of pistachio cake & hot chocolate. Amazing! We got to watch them hand write the lunch menu on the chalkboard, and the restaurant fill up quickly as noon approached. Their menu had really fresh and seasonal items. Beets were a feature in many of the dishes that afternoon, which was a bonus as it's my husband's favorite vegetable. We topped off our lunch with two more slices of cake. A tangerine & thyme tart for my husband, and a black forest, hazelnut, & cherry tart for myself. This was the most satisfying dessert I've had in a LONG time. I could not stop smiling as I ate it, and tried to go as slow as possible savoring the perfect combination of all the ingredients! Go to this restaurant! Go early! Have lots of cake! :)

Kai is not just Kai, kai nui would be a better description. I am a pescatarian and get so weary of envying having menu options. This was not the case at Kai. It was actually rather difficult to decide which option to choose. The chard curry was perfect, a comfort dish, perfectly seasoned, just what we needed for the rainy day. The crab dish was exquisite, delicately balanced, the crab was the star of the show (local crab too❤️) but the romesco, cucumber and pear all elivated the flavor. We could not decide on dessert as all the cakes looked amazing. So far, the pistachio cake and the chocolate cake are amazing, so moist. We still have coffee and bailey's and a pumpkin cake to try. The team were so friendly and welcoming. We had the best flat whites to date (usually they just don't get it right in the northern hemisphere). Thank you Team Kai, we will definitely be back.

We went here as part of a small group tour. The staff did an amazing job handling our diverse and sometimes chaotic party of foodies and chefs. Every dish was exceptional and well sized, thought out and aligned with their concept. Beautiful presentation without sacrificing quality or quantity. Very original and delicious.

Si bien me encanta ver al personal efectivamente etiquetar al equipo para brindar servicio, no funcionó aquí. ¿Pero tal vez tratan a los visitantes de manera diferente a los locales? No encontramos servidores particularmente amables o atentos y estaban consternados por vender a lo que era claramente demasiado comida para nuestra mesa. Varios artículos se agotaron, pero solo nos dijeron después de que pedimos, que es otro error de servicio importante. El lugar es encantador por dentro, aperitivos bastante buenos / inventivo y la red principal en su mayoría bueno, aunque la famosa coliflor era demasiado aceitosa y el plato desequilibrado y más rico en alioli. Las chuletas de cordero estaban muy bien hechas.
