The best seafood I had in Ireland. The seafood tower is a must try and great for a special occasion.

A just OK experience. Food was good, mains very tasty. Service poor and strange. Discouraged by waitress from ordering two portions of bread for four people, and from ordering extra potatoes. When asked for suggestions it didn’t seem that the waitress knew the menu or what the dishes involved. When asked for the bill by myself (female) the bill was handed to the only male sitting at the table. The service would put me off returning. Ambiance itself is lovely.

Quaint little restaurant on the edge of Galway town and within walking distance of the centre. Booking a must but you might get lucky with a drop in

We had dinner there last evening. It was excellent. Starters was really tasty and the main courses were cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend Kai.

If it weren't for the €65 per person price tag (sharing a starter and dessert, and only ordering one glass of wine), it would easily deserve a higher rating, but for the price, I don't see the current rating as justified. I'm reading the reviews, and it's true they don't explain the dishes very well. Other things caught our attention more, details like them pouring the wine directly into the glass. The food is generally good. The crab was bad as crab, but okay as something else, like a salad or something else. It had a good flavor, but we couldn't find the crab.

Was disappointed considering that the restaraunt is on the Michelin List. Crab was bland, venison was dry/chalky, bread was bland and chewy, potato side was tasty but very chewy and parsley sauce overpowering, rabbit starter had a purée that completely overpowered the rabbit (I think it was butternut squash) and my fish was bland and meaty/chewy also (potentially overcooked). We both thought it was overpriced and should be more affordable considering it is Michelin Recommended but doesn’t have a Bib Gourmand or a Michelin Star. Service was also ok but staff seemed annoyed or uninterested and not as attentive as I would have expected. I asked one staff member to tell us about the dishes briefly or about their favourites and they basically just read the menu back to us which I found slightly patronising, or maybe they just didn’t know the dishes very well - but this was the middle of the month so I assume the menu was not brand new.

Absolutely loved this place. Great food and service, with a very cozy dining atmosphere! Managed to get into this restaurant as a walk in but we have limited dining time. The crab and roe starter had a good combination of refreshing and a crab mix with a spice kick to it. The steak portion was generous and the pak choi that accompanies the steak was very delicious. There is a slight spice to the meat which brought the flavor together very well. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend for a special event. The price is on the higher side relatively to food in Galway, but worth checking it out nonetheless.

Trappers Inn

06/12/2025: Easily the best Irish Breakfast in the City. Good portions, served hot but not too hot, quick and tasty.
28/11/2025: Had a lovely meal here. Ate the special (turkey and stuffing) and it was delicious. The service was top notch and very attentive even as the place was quite busy. I don’t recommend Galway but if you have to go this is a great place for a meal.
