Kirbys of Cross Street in Galway

Kirby’s of Galway was exactly what we were looking for after a day of exploring the city. It offers quality comfort food in a warm, welcoming setting, making it an easy restaurant to recommend to a wide range of diners. The menu has plenty of variety, so whether you’re after seafood, steak, traditional Irish dishes or something lighter, there is something to suit most tastes. Everything we ordered was well prepared, generously portioned and full of flavour. This isn’t a restaurant trying to reinvent fine dining, and that’s actually one of its strengths. It focuses on serving satisfying, well-executed meals using good ingredients, and it does that very well. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a great place to unwind over dinner. Despite being popular, the service remained friendly, efficient and professional throughout our visit. The staff struck the right balance between being attentive and allowing us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. Sometimes when travelling you simply want a dependable restaurant where you know you’ll receive a quality meal, pleasant surroundings and good service. Kirby’s delivered on all three. We left very satisfied and could easily see ourselves returning on a future visit to Galway. If you’re visiting Galway and want a reliable restaurant with a broad menu and consistently good food, Kirby’s is well worth considering.

OMG! I ordered battered fish and chips and received a plate with TWO pieces of fish, a great pile of chips, mushy peas, tartar sauce, tomato ketchup and half a lemon to squeeze on! Utterly delicious. Great, very friendly service and lively atmosphere.

food was amazing, oysters, lamb and fish incredible. now the cheesecake was out of this world. service and food was amazing

For all those people who looked at the menu on the door and walked away, you missed out! Food was delicious! Hubby had the lamb and I had the chicken, both were amazing! So happy was stayed!

Excellent food and very beautiful and sophisticated decoration. Impeccable service and very beautiful environment. You pay a little more, but it's worth it.

Everyone was excellent! We'll be back for sure. Staff were exceptional, food was excellent and clientele was lovely. Relaxed, no problem attitude.

Surprise vegan find! We had the combo of the mezza platter, and steamed broccoli and carrots. Very tasty!

Great Lunch special in the heart of Galway!!

Really loved it - only thing was we wanted to order dessert but couldn’t get seen so didn’t bother in the end.

THE best strip sirloin I have ever had. The garlic butter, cooked perfectly, bacon, and pearl onions. Paul Hollywood could not have put together a better combo. This was a meal of pure bliss. I wanted more and sadly forgot my 2nd stomach. The roasted chicken was very nice. Slightly overcooked however still tasty. The layered potatoe was very interesting. Lamination layers like I've never seen. I highly recommend Kirby's. It was well worth it.
