Classic pub fare with a neighborhood feel and live music. The staff was great and really attentive. We enjoyed our dinner here in the heart of town.

I have visited Kinsale for a few days and Kitty Ó Sé truly is a pub I’d go back to if I were to visit Kinsale again! Very friendly staff (Seán called a taxi for us and recommended some places in town), great atmosphere and great food: being a vegetarian my options are often limited but their halloumi burger is to die for thanks to its sauce–and the beetroot bun was surprisingly nice!! Many thanks, I will miss this pub ❤️

Great seafood on the middle of Killarney. The chowder is out of the world with chucky bits of smoked hag, salmon, cod and prawns in a light but creamy fish broth. Beef tomato salad with mozzarella in basil olive oil dressing is fresh and you can taste the sweetness of the tomato. Baked scallop was so tender!!! As we are not big dinner eaters we shared the seafood pasta which again, pasta is al dente and so tasty. These were all washed down with a bottle of fresh white wine to complete the dining experience. Highly recommended and we will definitely come back!!!

Seafood Chowder was perfect. The Linguine a bit overcooked.

Best fish and chips we’ve had in Ireland. The house made tartar sauce and mushy peas were also excellent.

Max's

01/05/2026: Get to Max's for great food with uncanny attention to detail. The mother daughter service just do charming. Mom was tough as nails and a blast to talk to and daughter was so sweet!!

Bastion

20/07/2026: We had an absolutely fabulous time at Bastion with their tasting menu! Every single course was delicious, inventive, and unique to anything we’ve tried before. The service was top notch, Helen was so welcoming and helpful with her recommendations as she guided us along our tasting journey. We’ve been to multiple Michelin restaurants and I honestly would put the food and service against any of them. Throughly enjoyed everything all the way through the “sweet treats” at the end. Only one caveat, it is a long tasting with the 8 courses stretching over 2.5 hours, but every dish kept us wanting more.
13/05/2026: We came for the set menu on a weekday and the restaurant was relatively quiet. Overall I enjoyed the meal and my personal favourite was the langoustine course, which was light and the langoustine was super fresh. The courses that I didn’t enjoyed was the fish with the prawn broth (v salty) and the main paired with the beetroot sauce and Szechuan pepper - somehow it over complicates the dish and the combination don’t work. One of the course was a round croissant served with some beautiful Irish butter - but again I’m happy with a simple good warm bread that could highlight the flavour of the butter .. instead of putting butter on a croissant that’s already made with a lot of butter.
