La Côte in Wexford

Cozy place of about 15 tables. Early-Bird and 2 additional seatings. Very small staff that hustles. The flavors on all dishes were spot on. My rare+1 steak was exactly that. The prefix makes it easy, but you can ala-cart if you insist. Beer and wine was available, 4 pages of the menu. As a critic? The exploded spring roll doesn't make sense. The genius of a spring roll is the mix of flavor in each bite. Same with the deconstructed dessert. Why make pie hard to eat? Enjoyable place solo or couples.

Amazing seafood. The monkfish was delicious with a squid ink bulgar and lots of interesting accompaniments and my wife had a lovely citrusy lemon sole. Will be back. Thanks guys

We were early, it was quiet to start. Picked up. Lovely setting, terrific friendly staff who know the food.

We drove an hour and a half from Kilkenny to eat here and are so glad we made the trip. Absolutely delicious food, beautifully designed and executed to perfection. Everything was wonderfully tasty, from the bread ("sorry it'll be five minutes, it's in the oven") to the seafood and fish to desserts. Service was relaxed and friendly. Cannot wait to come again.

Unlike other reviewers, we had an awful experience at La Côte. After we were seated we waited for 10 minutes before the table next to us (who was seated after us) was given their dinner and drinks menus, at which point I had to request menus for us. Then they only gave us dinner menus and I had to ask, twice, for a drinks menu. Then I noticed that all the other tables had a carafe of tap water, which was not offered to us. Terrible service. The menu was limited. We were looking forward to some great seafood options on the menu since this is a seafood restaurant, but they only had three mains choices, all white fish variations. I would have left a lower rating than three stars, except that when our food arrived it was ok.

A really nice little restaurant on the front. The menu was good, the food was excellent, and the service friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommended.

Ella served us, what a lovely, lovely, bright soul! Made our evening beautiful. The food was INCREDIBLE. As a couple, we have literally travelled all over the world, for the price you pay, the portions are decent, flavors were on point and like I said I want a tub full of that potato gratin (soo cozy and just divine!) We ordered the monk and sole, we also had salmon appetizers AMAZING.. Thank you for making our first dinner out in Ireland memorable. The vibe was cosy, the service was kind and bright, and the food was a hit. Thank you once again. We hope to see you again.
