Langton's in Kilkenny

I don't often leave reviews but on this occasion I just had to. The hotel is stunning. From the outside it looks like a small irish pub, it's so deceptively massive!! The decor is divine, lots of beautiful tiles, beautiful wood and fresh flowers, its design and decor is both traditional chunky and French boudoir, with a hint of Georgian thrown in. There is a front restaurant, a back restaurant for breakfast, tea rooms, library room, back bar, wedding venue and outside bar, it's huge. We were lucky enough to get a suite for the night and wow! Georgian, four poster bed, large drapes, jacuzzi bath, what's not to love, the bed was the nicest cosiest hotel bed I've ever slept in. Staff were attentive and pleasant and helpful, the breakfast was so beautiful and fresh, I had poached eggs on sourdough. I've just left and I'm dying to go back!!

We had a lovely stay here and there was a big menu of cocktails which was great. Staff were lovely and afternoon tea was amazing. Location was very close to town centre

Went to Langtons for afternoon tea. It was fabulous. Staff are attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was lovely and relaxing. Three tier cake stand was entirely filled with great quality savoury and sweet items. Cocktail included, great selection to choose from.

Had a fantastic couple of days based out Langton bar and restaurant with friends. Great atmosphere in the bar ( live music) and also the restaurant had a buzz about it. Food was delicious- had the duck pate and fish main. Staff are more than helpful and we had a great laugh .

Stopped by this hotel for a quick bite and ordered a flat white and the Boston prawn cocktail. The coffee was good, but the prawn cocktail was just average. It was a busy weekend, so the atmosphere was a bit noisy. Overall, a decent experience but nothing particularly memorable.

Alice wonderland inspired restaurant with it's cozy cafe seemingly secret like the world of wonderland. The interior design of John Street Tea & wine is an ideal spot for wine/coffee catch-up with family or dress nicely with your girls for tea and cakes. The brunch was amazing from 'The works' to the Boiled egg florentine with a tomato salsa that cuts and balance flavour along side the potatoes and pudding spinach. Staff are very attentive, kind, caring and very accommendating. Rooms here are cozy and lovely. Food very fairly priced around 10 - 15 euro for brunch meals with portion size that perfectly filling and leaving room for something sweet. I'll definitely be coming back here for (1) stay (2) coffee and (3) chats. P.S keep an eye out for Alice and Wonderland Easter eggs like stop watches and cards. As for environment, chill jazz and medium chatter is nice calming

Langtons Hotel should be right at the top of the list for anyone planning a wedding. Sean, Louise, and the entire Langtons team went above and beyond—we honestly couldn’t have imagined better service. They take such a personal, hands-on approach and genuinely care about making your day exactly how you envision it. We’re convinced very few venues in Ireland could have matched the experience we had. Our guests were raving for days about the food, the venue itself, the staff, and even the guest rooms. It’s no surprise Langtons consistently wins awards—they’ve absolutely earned them. Sean, Louise, thank you so much for making Daniela and I’s day so special. You run a phenomenal show, and any couple lucky enough to celebrate with you is in for something truly memorable.

What a fantastic venue everything there is super cool The people are super friendly and the services exceptional couldn't have had a better place for a wedding.

Wonderful hotel in the middle of Kilkenny. Car parking available at the rear. Easy access to all the local sites. Very friendly staff. Room was excellent. There is no lift, so top two floors might not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

This bar and restaurant seems to be the most popular place to be in Kilkenny town on a Friday night. Maybe on any given night actually. I was travelling solo in Kilkenny last week and popped in here on the Friday evening at about 5.30pm just to have a bit of a look. Every table in the place already had a reserved sign on it!!!! Good sign. Luckily there were some free stools at the bar itself. So I grabbed one of them and decided to settle in for a drink and a meal. It was obviously the place to be. And I didn’t regret it. There was a really nice, relaxed vibe that remained constant even as the place filled up throughout the evening. It never felt really ‘busy’ or ‘loud’. The decor was lovely too. Very comfortable but classy. With little candles on all the tables etc. The staff were friendly and just the right amount of attentive. I thoroughly enjoyed spending a couple of hours there. I had a couple of drinks and a high quality meal. The hotel that the bar is part of looks great too. Very inviting. I’ll definitely come back here next time I’m spending some time in Kilkenny. And next time I’ll avail of the accommodation too. Very very nice place in a great location for everything. I believe the bar has won a number of awards too over the years. Very well deserved!
