The essence of an Irish pub, a must vist destination in Wexford

Bartender Eddy became our friend in five seconds! Bar Undertaker/ Con Makens ( husband day care centre ) is a typical local pub with a good feeling, all sorts of good feelings, nice and warm atmosphere. I highly recommend to take a stop, have a pint or more. It is located by the Bullring Marked in Wexford. Pub of the year 2024 in Irland.

Great spot for a pint of Guinness. Plenty on seats outside for a bit of people watching when the sun shining

Nice pint, friendly staff , great area to sit and watch the world go by in the bullring having a drink on a sunny day.

Nice pub with friendly staff and good beer only downside was the smell of stale beer

A good old-fashioned pub does not do food serves drinks and conversations

Arrive in Wexford yesterday and went to Mackens: The Cape Barr for our first drink @ 14:30’ish yesterday and stayed there until closing time last night. The owner “Eddie” was a lovely bloke and as the bar manager “Damien” was the business, a very nice bloke who made us feel very welcome and kept the conversation flowing. Excellent service, Very clean premises and the price of the pints were bang on. Most certainly I’ll be back up to Wexford and looking forward to visiting The Cape again. Great little place to have a few drinks

Eddie Macken is basicallly an institution in Wexford. Very nice guy and extremely efficient staff. Aidan and Seamus in particular.

Great staff,friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and warm pub.
