I sat at the bar and ate an out of this world sirloin. All the bartenders were pleasant they could and I never been treated so well by this many different people at one place. The service alone were a 5+ star.

We booked for 8 pm. We arrived on time.were showing our table. Waiter came took our drinks order. No problem drinks served in about 5 minutes. At 8.15 our order was taken. I ordered onion soup for starters my wife was only having a main course. We sat there waiting and at 8.45 I called waiting staff and ask was i getting my soup. She went off and came back to tell me there was a mix up and she apologised. She told us our main course was ready and would I like my soup served together with the main course. I told her to cancel the soup. We got the main course and you could not fault it. The food was excellent. She came to us and said we could have dessert on the house. My wife doesn't eat dessert but I said I would have ice cream. But would they put it in microwave for about 10 seconds that is the way i like my ice-cream. She went away and returned to say sorry they couldn't put it in the microwave. Any restaurant i have went to have never had a problem putting my ice cream in microwave. Overall the atmosphere and food was great but the service is terrible and I don't think they will go out of their way to please a customer.

We walked in as a group of four without a reservation and didn’t have to wait long at all, which was a nice surprise, especially on a Friday evening over Easter weekend. We were seated at the bar, which I don’t usually prefer for a full meal, but the seating was comfortable enough to make it work. Sitting right in front of the bartenders definitely had its advantages. We were able to order both food and drinks directly with no delay, which made the whole experience feel smooth and efficient. Food did take a while to come out, which was understandable given how busy it was, but if I had been dining alone it might have felt a bit long. I went for the slow cooked Crowe’s bacon collar with mustard glaze, parsnip and scallion mash, carrot purée, creamy leek sauce and braised hispi cabbage (€21.80). It’s apparently one of their signature dishes, and I can see why. The portion was generous and the plate was well composed, with good balance across textures and flavours. The pork was rich and satisfying, though slightly dry around the edges, but the sauces brought everything together nicely. For dessert, my friends ordered the orange and vanilla bread and butter pudding with custard and whipped cream (€8), and the chocolate and honeycomb brownie with salted caramel and Baldwin’s vanilla ice cream (€8.30). I didn’t try them myself as I was already full, but the table was very impressed. They even said they would come back the next day just for dessert, which says a lot. Overall, a very enjoyable meal. It was a bit noisy and there was a wait for the food, but the quality of the dishes and the atmosphere made up for it. Special mention to the bartender who looked after us, very friendly, helpful, and even offered us beers to try since we were visiting and hadn’t had any local Cork ones before.

Food was tasty. Good variety, options to satisfy all tastes, and well prepared. We tried the steak, crispy torn chicken salad and baked aubergine parmigiana.

Great restaurant. The food is amazing here, it's well above what the decor might initially suggest (and it's still a very nice looking restaurant too). The service was excellent, and everything was great. I would highly recommend going here. Prices are reasonable giving the high quality of the food. They brew their own beers too. I tried the lager and pale ale. Both were very very nice. Top top place. Would go back here in a heartbeat
