Max's in Kinsale

Amazing experience. The monkfish was like two huge chunks of lobster meat. The staff went out of their way to accommodate my wife’s lactose intolerance.

We feel very lucky to have managed to get in to this little gem of a restaurant on our last night in Ireland. A short menu of freshly made dishes. Great! All options were imaginative, packed with flavour and beautifully presented. Portions were a perfect size - not too big. We cleared our plates at each course - no waste and we were replete. And to accompany the lovely food, we enjoyed a bottle of reasonably priced French vermentino, which we have taken details of and hope to find again. We finished with a small glass of the ‘sticky’ of our choice wi the our deserts. Staff were all charming. We loved this place. Get there if you can.

This was a nice dinner. I had Monkfish and it was amazing! Delicious! We made reservations at least a few weeks in advance. It books up quickly.

After many years in the restaurant business I understand what it takes, ate a fish dish that is basically the best I have ever eaten. Highly recommended, really worth a detour. Fantastic family who put their soul into the experience👏. Thank you 🫶!

We've been in Ireland for over a week eating at great places, but Max's is far and above the best dinning experience and food/wine we've had. It's a lovely family run restaurant, the daughter was our server, mom our sommelier/host and dad chef. A true gem! Thank you for a lovely evening!

Had an amazing experience and we loved our wait staff so much we wanted her to adopt us. P.S. we saw Max the husky out for a walk the next day and he deserves to have a restaurant to be named after him ❤️

It's very delicious There was food, everything! 48 euros per person for the main course and appetizer. Nice service, we ate cod and monkfish!

First time in Kinsale and searched restaurants came across this restaurant and thought we would try for a last minute booking. Apparently they reopened last night. Food was amazing simply some of the best seafood I have had. Definitely the best squid and the best Monkfish I have ever eaten, cooked to perfection. Staff were flat out, but they were friendly and attentive. 10/10 I’m sure we will be back
