McSwiggans in Galway

Prices are not cheap, but food is very tasty and very good, especially the Chowder. The service was excellent by the new Spanish waitress. She was very helpful informative and knew her menu well. She had a smile on her face although she had a busy section. I would visit again if I'll be in Galway again.

Good steak even though both orders came out more under done than ordered. Staff was happy to correct the order.

Some of the best steak we have had. We had the chateaubriand. The sides were delicious. It was nice to have a choice of sauces too! Service was excellent.

Wow!! Absolutely stunning food, had a steak sandwich, which was beyond any steak sandwich I’ve ever had. Well done. My partner had lamb stew, again, beyond stunning. Our waitress ( Barbara ) was so attentive, professional and so so lovely, she should get a raise. Cosy, relaxing and very atmospheric, with great music on in the back ground. Very impressed.

McSwiggins is a beautiful spot for dinner. We had visited for a pint one day, then decided to return for dinner. The pub is cozy and typical for Galway, great place to watch a match. Go upstairs and you’ll find beautiful dining rooms with refined food and service. I had a pot of steamed mussels that was fabulous, and my husband had a delicious fish and chips. Great place for a date night dinner.

Steak was medium, not the medium rare we asked for and a bit dry.. for a steak house, it wasn't good enough. The prawns were unseasoned and overcooked..... but the duck and oysters were banging. The french savignon blac was amazing for its price. Service was outstanding.

Lovely setting with nice buzzing atmosphere. The maître d' was a bit stuffy but the waiting staff were fab. Had steaks and duck. My husband's steak was too rare for medium, however my daughters was good. I like that the cost includes sides, and they were generous. I had the half duck that was very tasty but would have been even nicer if the skin had been rendered more and made more crispy. We had a lovely time.
