A great place for meetings, the food is excellent, especially the steak.

Very good option for food. Since it was my first dinner in Ireland I acted like a tourist and ordered traditional fish and chips and it was really very good.

Hosted our stag party for a trad session. Very welcoming and relaxed 👍👍.

Dined at McSwiggan’s Restaurant, Galway on February 13th and once again it delivered. We were welcomed with complimentary drinks as part of a Dingle promotion — a nice touch that immediately set the tone for the evening. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and the service throughout was excellent. Our server Shay was particularly impressive: friendly, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. For starters, the Bloody Mary Oyster Shot was a standout. Shay’s recommendation was spot-on — pour some of the Bloody Mary over the oyster, eat it, then finish the remaining drink. It worked perfectly and balanced the flavours beautifully. The Connemara smoked salmon was also excellent, fresh and clean tasting. Mains were just as strong. The pan-seared sea bass was cooked beautifully with a delicate texture, and the 8oz dry-aged prime fillet was a perfect medium rare. Notably, this is my third visit over the past 12–16 months and every time the steak has been cooked exactly right. Consistently outstanding food, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere — McSwiggan’s continues to be one of the most reliable dining spots in Galway.

Went back in January while visiting Galway with my boyfriend. We stayed downstairs so can’t speak to the full menu. We had been getting the seafood chowder all throughout Ireland and this was by far our favorite. We even went back the next day for seconds!! We met a manager and he was such a nice gentleman. Our server Kate was also amazing both times 10/10 recommend

We didn't spend time in the bar proper so can't speak to that but the restaurant is top class. Phenomenal food. Really exceptional. Unpretentious location and very friendly and helpful staff. Family friendly too. Can't recommend highly enough.

Excellent and well-organized service.

What a restaurant, full marks, everything here is above and beyond, Unassuming from outside; a hidden gem. We had the mushrooms to start, steak and duck were excellent, sides gorgeous, black forest cheesecake was devine. Thank you everyone involved.

Honestly can't fault this place! Our 3rd attempt at finding a table on a wet, miserable Saturday night, after travelling from Dublin earlier in the day. We hadn't anticipated the Rugby match onslaught but delighted we got this recommendation!✌🏼
