Merry Monk in Ballina

Recently had a mediocre carvery lunch here. Service was ok but then the place wasn't busy. On the plus side there's plenty of free parking & it's accessible.

Food is absolutely amazing. Great staff and friendly atmosphere. Im delighted to be a regular at The Merry Monk because you always get great food.

This is a good restaurant. Popular at lunch with the locals. The day we were there, they offered what they call a carvery lunch. which is basically a buffet with vegetables and potatoes and gravy and different kinds of meats. they got a couple of guys in white coats that carve up the meat and put it on your plate hence the name Carvery. we happened to get there just before the lunch hour. during our meal the place was flooded with locals, there was a constant flow coming in eating and getting out before 30 minutes was up. I guess they all had to get back to work. It tells a lot about a place when the locals flood the place at lunch. the food was pretty good and I would highly recommend it at lunch.

Overall, a very pleasant dining experience—highly recommended for anyone in the Ballina area looking for a hearty and enjoyable meal.
