Great pub! The chicken goujons are amazing. It’s a great blend of locals and tourists. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The kitchen is open until 10p!!!! Which we accidentally discovered is rare. If you’re fortunate enough to meet the proprietor, Gary, he’s everything you’d been lead to believe about the Irish. Quick wit, friendly and knowledgeable of everything Galway. Can’t say enough good things about Monroe’s

Nous avons dégusté un hamburger absolument succulent chez Monroe’s Tavern. La viande était juteuse et bien assaisonnée, le pain frais, et les garnitures savoureuses. Les portions étaient généreuses, parfaites pour satisfaire un bon appétit. Combiné à l’excellent service, au vaste choix de bières et à l’ambiance animée avec musique live, ce repas a été un vrai plaisir. Un endroit à recommander sans hésiter pour bien manger et passer un bon moment à Galway.

Siempre una gran comida y pinta aquí. Ven aquí cada vez que venimos a ver Cardiff v Connacht en el rugby. Excelentes desayunos y almuerzos. Estofado irlandés y tocino y col esta visita.

05/09/2025: This is the best breakfast experience in Galway!!!!! The French toast dishes are unbelievable and rival that of any American establishment!!!! Eggs and sausage to compliment create a spectacular flurry of flavors and textures!!! The service is exceptional and very fast!!!! Truly an amazing breakfast experience and the only way to start your day!!!!!

The Skeff

09/09/2025: Authentic pub with fantastic food! Service was rather mediocre.
09/09/2025: The Skeff is part of the The Skeffington Arms Hotel. Food was very good. The Seafood Chowder and a couple of (non!) Stout beers from other parts of Ireland were a welcomed change of pace. IPA's, actually. One from Letterkenny, and the other from Kill, County Kildare. Other than the service being just a tad slow, it was (overall) very good. And the live music was magical this night. Okay...Not exactly magical, but covers from bands/artists that everyone knows, sung by a group of a youngish band of 3 called The Groev. They did a great job, actually.
