Mulcahys in Kenmare

Had a couple of lovely meals at Mulcahys, after first trying it based on the recommendation of my B&B host. Ordered a started and a couple different small plates on each visit to try some different things, and everything was really amazing; bold and surprising flavours in every dish. The main dining room is classy but welcoming, kind of an old-school steakhouse vibe, with some lovely artwork on display.

Beef Wellington is something rare these days and it was incredible. The desert menu is focused around their apple tart for 2. The service was ok, a lot of sitting around waiting for my empty plates to be cleared. But the food was delicious.

Highly recommended! Three years ago, I wrote that I had the best ribeye steak ever here, and after returning today, I’m happy to say the food was even better than I remembered. The staff are friendly, the service is excellent, and the quality of the food is outstanding. It’s exactly the kind of place that reminds you why dining out should be a special experience. We drove all the way from Cork, and the journey was absolutely worth it. It’s wonderful to see such consistency and dedication to quality after all these years. A special mention for the thoughtful message we spotted in the restroom from one of your guests, it was a lovely touch and showed the care and attention that make this place so special. Thank you again for another fantastic meal. We’ll definitely be back! Well done, Mulcahys! 😃

An incredible meal for our last night in Kenmare. The mushroom risotto starter was exceptional. Staff were class and just a great experience all round

Amazing good and nice fast service, already rebooked to visit again this week.

Easily the best meal in Ireland we had! We had the monkish and beef Wellington, so flavorful and mouth watering good. Also had a side of celeriac gratin which was INCREDIBLE. Don’t pass this place up, call ahead for a reservation as they were packed. Portions leave you the right amount of full.

Had the most delicious food in a beautiful atmosphere with exceptional service. From start to finish everything was cooked to perfection..presentation amazing.

The service is easy-going and extremely friendly - we enjoyed ourselves so much we returned and were not disappointed. The food is tasty and the atmosphere is busy but not loud. A treasure for the area. Thanks for the memorable evenings!
