Murphy's in Killarney

We went there twice. The first time was on a Friday evening and the second time on a Sunday. The food was delicious both times, although the cheesecake wasn't the best choice. The service was fantastic on Friday. However, on Sunday it was apparently very busy, which was clearly noticeable to the staff.

We have been traveling along the coast of Ireland (beginning and ending in Dublin) and have been seeing wonderful beauties, but I have been desperate for live traditional Irish music. Had tried some other pubs, and many were playing American music. We saw a bus advertisement of this place advertising they have Irish music every night. The two gentlemen/musicians that we watched here were amazing. They were very entertaining and interactive with the audience. They got me to play tambourine twice along with their music (and also my husband). So much fun, and very friendly atmosphere. Can’t speak for their food since we didn’t get food here, but they have good old Guinness; and I’ll highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a live traditional irish music.

20 years after my first visit: Food‘s still fantastic. The sticky toffee cake is a must. Great place!

This was our first stop when we arrived late in Killarney and it was a fantastic start to what ended up being my favorite town in Ireland! We got to here late and they kindly still allowed us to order food despite the kitchen being about to close. Not that I expected the food to be bad or anything but it ended up being SO delicious and hitting the spot! And during dinner, a band began to play Irish music which happened to be the first time I heard some all trip. If I wasn’t exhausted, I could have stayed there for hours listening. Loved this restaurant!

Incredible answer when we ask for dinner, a lot of tables free, 8 pm and they said they were full... after a little negociation with the employees, we passed a very pleasant time

We had the traditional Irish stew. Excellent in both quantity and quality. The vegan sandwich was also delicious.

Nice pub, classic food and drink selection. We enjoyed the food. It's worth it!

You had tried the day before, but they didn't serve dinner at that time (little by little, we got used to the Wild Atlantic Way schedule). The Guinness stew was good, the pie was tasty, although the pastry was quite thick; it could be better. The cheesecake (see photo) The atmosphere in the place was great, the live music was very good and engaging. It took them a while to understand we were from the Basque Country. A highly recommended place.

Gran pequeño lugar en Killarney para unas pintas y bocados ligeros. El personal es muy amable con un poco de música de fondo encantadora.

Fantastic stay as always- thanks to the staff but above all Fiona who is just amazing, couldn’t be nicer or more helpful.
