Really lovely hotel. Lots for our two and four year old to do. Food in Scotts was amazing. Very clean and staff friendly. Perfect for a few nights away!

If you are a family by all means, stay here. However, if you are an adult, avoid this hotel on the weekends as it is crawling with kids. We stayed here in October as part of a bus tour on a Saturday and Sunday night. At midnight on Saturday, kids were running in the halls and playing in the game room. Evidently they forgot to shutdown the game room at 9 pm like they were supposed to. Loved being kept awake at midnight by the sounds of air hockey two doors away. Otherwise, room was clean and nice. We walked into Kilkenny on Sunday morning after we tried to sleep in to catch up on lost sleep from the night before. Took about 20 minutes to walk into town.

Love this hotel. Third year in a row going back. Can't say enough about the kids club and the breakfast is great. Our room had some issues this time, side lights not working, air-conditioning going on and off being really loud. Just small things but when it is quite expensive a bit sad.

Bridie's Bar & General Store

21/09/2024: Bridie's Bar in Kilkenny is an absolute gem, offering a delightful mix of charm and indulgent treats. It’s a wonderful stop for anyone looking to escape into a cosy, welcoming environment, with extraordinary staff who go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Their vegan ice cream is a standout, delivering creamy, delicious flavors that even non-vegans will love. The macaroons are delightfully delicate, the perfect accompaniment to their signature gigantic cookie, which is a must-try for any sweet tooth with a cup of coffee. In my case, oat milk latte. Of course, if you're after a more traditional beverage, Bridie’s also serves a great selection of beers, adding to its appeal as a versatile spot to relax and unwind. Whether you’re there for a treat, a drink, or both, Bridie’s Bar is a must-visit. The warm, laid-back vibe combined with incredible desserts and refreshing beers make it one of Kilkenny’s best places.
19/08/2024: We had a great time celebrating the second day of our friend's wedding. They hired the venue and we had a wonderful time drinking and dancing in the beautiful courtyard garden
