This was a fabulous hotel in a GORGEOUS location. Make sure not to check in too late, pub options nearby are *very* limited.

One of our favorite dining experiences.  The food was amazing and the wine excellent, but the service and atmosphere made it a dining memory.  We hope to return someday.  Outstanding!

Ate at the restraunt booked around 6 months in advance with a room above. We stayed one night on a 2 week trip through Ireland and Scotland. The food was absolutely superb, the Scallops and Salmon was to die for and the Venison was one of the best I have ever had. The service was above and beyond and very attentive. The room was clean with a great view with basic necessities which was nice. We will be coming back through here when we visit again.

Our dining experience in this restaurant was 11/10. It is the best food we have ever eaten. The atmosphere was lovely. The staff were so nice. Kieran was so friendly. Cannot wait to return.

A family oaccasion brought us to Oar on an October evening. The menu was somewhat different from the sample menu on the internet but it was a sample menu but perhaps promised more creativity than what we got. But the food was fine - and we enjoyed. Only setbacks was the pre-printed wine list turned out to include wines not available. The service was kind and helpful but the lack of presentation of the cheeses served when you picked the cheese board left an impression of staff being too busy or ? Overall a pleasant experience

One of the best meals we've had anywhere at a fair price! Excellent service and impeccable preparation. We had the food gras mousse which was amazing, the beef capacity was excellent, the Dennison was the best I ever had: amazingly tender and not a hint of gamines. The halibut was flakes and flavorful and they also served the best oysters my wife has ever eaten as an amuse bouche, a compressed pineapple and fennel palate cleanser, and the seasonal vegetables (potato, sugar snap peas and cauliflower) were perfectly cooked and flavorful and magical in their simplicity. All paired well with a glass of Argentinian Malbec and an Italian Pinot Grigio. By far, the best meal we've had in our 2 months of travel across 4 countries. Highly recommended.

Phenomenal food, service and overall experience.

We had a delightful meal. It was all delicious, the wine was great and the chef was warm and friendly. He came to our table several times to check in on us. It was an all-around fabulous experience; I highly recommend The Oar!!

Super quiet accommodation. New stylish furniture, large parking space at the house, nice hostess. You should definitely visit the nearby pub as it has great music and good food. Unfortunately no breakfast at the accommodation.

A great evening out with special food and a great atmosphere--mainly due to Roxy who was charming despite some of the reviews here and Kieran came round to chat to people which was appreciated and amusing especially as he'd phoned the night before in the middle of a dinner and I'd told him to go away (it was an unknown number) and he couldn't work out if I'd said that or "Galway". Anyway all the food was very special--expensive but worth it.
