It simply does not get any better than this! The fabulous restaurant, accommodation and great service deserves 5 Stars+++

The Restaurant food and service was spectacular. We are visiting from Australian and this is the best meal we have had in Ireland or the UK since we arrived!

Highly recommend staying here! The location is fantastic - super close to the Cliffs of Moher and close to some lovely pubs and restaurants in the area. The host was also fabulous and very helpful and easy to communicate with. The only feedback we can give is that the bathrooms could maybe do with some renovation.

Oar Restaurant & Rooms is a standout pick if you love food experiences and are okay with a modest but characterful stay. The restaurant is the star, and the rooms complement it nicely. If you’re heading that way, I’d highly recommend booking early (especially dinner) and asking for a room with a view.

Stayed & dined at The Oar on the first night of our 2-week driving tour. Kieran set the bar impossibly high for the rest of Ireland! Met the host when we arrived, he walked us up to our room & explained everything. What can I say about dinner at The Oar that so many Michelin stars don't? We ordered 2 courses each & that somehow turned into a 7-course meal. At the table for 2+ hours a steady cadence of dishes & "samples" brought to us. Every bite a delight. Book a night & table at The Oar WAY in advance. If you're flying into nearby Shannon, make it the first or last night of your stay. Thanks again Kieran, you're the best!

The place was absolutely great ! The room was super clean, pretty with all the amenities you could expect. But what was the best was the person that welcomed us with great tips about the area and made us save about 30€ at the Cliff of Mohers & have an awesome time there with barely anyone around. It was magical and worthed waking up a bit early. Thanks a millions ! Hope we'll come back and try the food !

We recently returned for our second visit this year. First time was for the location, and outstanding accommodation. But this time we just stayed to have dinner. Absolutely FLAWLESS!! Our only fault (if it could be a fault?l is that we were so full after two outstanding courses, we had no room for dessert. A week later, I'm getting a terrible dose of "FOMO" (Fear of Missing Out). A huge thank you to Kieran and your excellent staff, for looking after us so well. See you soon.

The owner was lovely and the food was divine! We ordered the steak and the salmon. We were treated to fresh oysters as well. This was our 2nd Michelin Star dining experience (1st overseas) and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend! Worth the drive!

The bread and butter were delicious! The steaks were closer to well-done instead of medium, but the duck was great!

Beautiful little room with a view of the Cliffs of Moher. I did not realize the quality of the restaurant when I booked it and Kieran got us in due to a cancellation and we were blown away. The experience of booking this place and having dinner is truly one we’ll remember for our entire lives. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat and book again if I’m ever in western Ireland again. But be smarter than me and book the restaurant in advance!!
