Park House in Galway

The salmon is fantastic. The people were fantastic. Mind you, this review is being offered two years after my visit. I would return based on my previous experience.

Great location next to Eyre Square and a 5 to15 minute walk to anything you would like to do. Free parking is a major plus for a city center hotel. Decor and most rooms are classic/vintage and how you perceive will probably depend on your age. Rooms and public areas are very clean. Mattress could use a refresh. Great water pressure in the Tub/shower. WiFi was slow and occasionally intermittent was my only real complaint. Murty Rabbitts across the street has excellent seafood chowder. An Pucan typically has live music starting at 6 and a beer garden and pub fare. O’Connell’s bar has a great old school vibe and a large beer garden. They serve pizza in the evenings in the beer garden. All within a 2 minute walk.

We booked the restaurant for a Christening. Everything was so relaxed and stress free. I was really impressed with the service received, the food, the great menu choice and the relaxed atmosphere. The prices were reasonably too. Would definitely recommend to others.

It feels to me that the Parker House is living in the past (not only off past reviews but the rooms and hotel decor are from the past and outdated). The carpet and the room decor is dated and the bathrooms are serviceable but could also use a refresh. Hotel lobby and restaurant feel like it could have come off the Titanic. Breakfast that was included in our hotel rate was decent but there are much better breakfast options nearby. I will say that staff was friendly and location was convenient. However, definitely not worth the $350 USD per night that we paid (felt overpriced by about $125/night). Unless rates come down or the hotel invests in an upgrade, I would look elsewhere.

We were there as a family. Overall, the hotel seems rather dated, very dignified, and tends to attract older guests. The staff was mostly friendly, the room was okay, but the toilet flush in the bathroom was very loud and took a long time... We had actually expected something different, especially given the high price. And we're quite disappointed. We also expected the bar to be more convivial. The location is truly the best thing about it all; you can quickly get to the lively part of town, there's a lot to see, and Galway is worth a trip!

A nice, updated hotel in the heart of Galway near shopping and pubs. Good food in the hotel restaurant.

Comedor con mucho encanto, muy buen servicio, cenamos muy bien, tanto los platos de carne como el salmón estupendos al igual que la crème brulé. Un acierto ir a cenar allí.

Visitamos el restaurante del hotel Park House cada vez que visitamos Galway - tan buena comida y excelente personal. Siempre está ocupado, así que recomendaría reservar con antelación. En esta ocasión tuvimos el pollo Maryland y el pato - ambos hermosos. Recomiendo encarecidamente una visita.

The Park House Hotel in Galway lived up to its 4-star rating. The room was spacious, comfortable, and updated. The service was friendly and helpful. The food and service at breakfast was terrific. The location of the hotel, just outside the busy tourist area, but close enough to walk to everything, was outstanding. We were able to park our car in their private and secure lot adjacent to the hotel. The outside, lobby, bar, and restaurant area were all classic and tasteful. I couldn't recommend it more highly if you are going to Galway.
