PJ O'Hares in Carlingford

Was a bit disappointing for the previous visits but it was surprisingly good on my last visit! The homemade bread, fresh oyster and the seafood chowder!!!

Waiters are very nice, food is also lovely overall very good bar/restaurant

It's a very cool place. Good music and dancing on weekends Reasonable prices, good cuisine Friendly barmen and in general all the staff Recommended

Food was great, best chips in Ireland. Waiting staff didn't seem bothered, asked for a sauvignon blanc, never received it and took ages to get our order taken. Food impeccable.

If you have a Sunday free and you want incredible food and outstanding live music this is the place for you!

Great pub! Out for the day with the boys, a few pints and nice food. Then it got livelier later on, mingled and danced but the taxi came early 😞 to end a great day 👍

Overall not bad, but there are a lot of shortcomings: for some reason only half of the door opens at the entrance and there is a very narrow passage, which creates a crowd at the entrance. The hall is very noisy, you can constantly hear the clatter of dishes and many other unpleasant sounds either from the kitchen or from the bar. But all these are minor things compared to the fact that in the soup I ordered, I came across a fish bone that almost got stuck in my throat. I was lucky and managed to pull it out! When I asked how this could happen, the waitress just threw up her hands and answered with the standard “sorry.” Yes, the food was really tasty, but this unfortunate bone overshadowed the whole experience. We really like this town and every time we come here we try to visit a new place to try something new. Unfortunately, we probably won't go to this pub again.

Absolutely beautiful food, really good menu and attentive and friendly staff. Cosy wee seat near the bar in front of the fire. Look forward to visiting again.

Chose this spot as we saw other people eating in it. Turned out to be a good call. The piri piri chicken burger was very good - flavours came through, added extra bacon which was great. The fish and chips were also good - even if the fish was square! Staff were friendly and helpful. Top marks. Worth a visit if in Carlingford!
