Poacher Restaurant in Ballina

We ate there last night. I couldn't recommend highly enough. We were a party of 3, we had the 1 Anthony Heffernan Medallion beef, 2. Butter Fried Wild Atlantic Sea Bream Served with Chervil, a Sunflower Seed Orzo, Courgette Ribbons, Green Grapes and a serving of Goatsbridge Trout Caviar Sauce 3. The tastiest lentil nutloaf ive ever tasted.💗👏 Portions sized were perfect. Lovely touch to get the fabulous homemade breads and Houmous tasters while waiting. Also great to see local craft beer on offer.

I went to the poachers the other day and I must say it was one of the best restaurants I've ever been to, I ordered the filet mignon and I asked for it to be medium rare which they cooked it perfectly, for desert I ordered the vanilla passionfruit cheesecake which was delicious. Highly recommended this to anyone that is thinking of going to the poachers

Absolutely love this restaurant. Eaten in Poachers about 10 times over past couple of years and this place is, hands down, my favourite restaurant in the west of Ireland to visit. Everything about it....the foods, the flavours, the wines, the staff, all exceptional. The braised beef cheeks? PUT IT IN MY VEINS! Going again this Friday, and I can't wait!

Everything was exceptional. It was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. Staff were very passionate about the food and very attentive. I’m looking forward to going back. 10/10 meal and not even hard to score it so high, it was all incredible. I couldn’t fault a single thing and I’m not surprised they have so many awards.

The best restaurant we visited in our three weeks in Ireland! We were here with our two children and weren't sure at first if it was a good idea to take them to a high-end restaurant. But from the start, everything worked out great. There's an excellent children's menu, crayons, and something to color in, and the waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding, almost Michelin-star quality—but still affordable. The large selection of vegetarian dishes is remarkable. The waiter gave us excellent advice on matching wines for each course; the virgin mojito was also excellent! For anyone looking for something different than an Irish pub with burgers and pizza, this is the place for you!

100% best experience in years, I only ordered small plates and wine but the dishes were the best I ever tasted. Talented staff and talented chef.

Great service, amazing food, good atmosphere. Portion size is just right. Good mix of flavours, where no flavour took over another one. This picture is of my daughters dessert from kids menu.
