The Cot & Cobble in Ballina

We were facilitated at the last minute. Bar food downstairs and restaurant upstairs. The food was good and the staff were nice.

Great atmosphere during the jazz night last Tuesday. The Guinness was perfect!

Food is kinda bland and not that good. Staff are all sound but the beef is overdone and super dry.

We are on a campervan holiday in Sligo and Mayo and decided to stop in Ballina. A local recommended this spot to us as we need to find gluten free food for our coeliac children. We were not disappointed! The waitress explained that (contrary to the printed menu) almost everything was either gluten free or could be made gluten free. Coeliacs will be happy to hear that the fries currently have their own dedicated fryer and so are safe to eat. The coeliacs ate: chicken wings, loaded potato skins and the spicy chicken burger (with GF bun). They were all very happy, and very full! I had the steak burger, not gluten free , but it was delicious and filling. The portion sizes here are generous, and the food is tasty. We were seated upstairs which is a little more formal than the pub downstairs. I would have preferred downstairs, but the dining room was perfectly fine. The service here was excellent, and the staff are to be commended for their great work. Thanks Cot and Cobble, we'll return the next time we visit Ballina!
