Really nice place for a sandwich. Not too busy and loud. Bathroom is really clean. They only had a few sandwiches left we could choose from. They toasted them up quickly and it tasted good. The chocolate milk was too milky and it wasn't that much. Less than half the cup was filled up.

An Pucan

07/05/2026: Excellent! Live music throughout, delicious homemade food, reasonable prices. Great atmosphere. Don't miss it.
06/05/2026: Step inside this Galway pub and you’re immediately wrapped in that low-lit, amber-glow atmosphere where time loosens its grip and the evening writes its own story. There’s a hum in the air, part laughter, part clinking glasses, part the faint tuning of instruments in the corner. Let’s start with the beer, because it deserves top billing. Fresh on tap, perfectly poured, and rotating enough to keep things interesting, the selection feels both generous and carefully chosen. Whether you’re settling into a creamy stout or something lighter and crisp, every pint arrives like it knows it has a reputation to uphold. The food might surprise you if you came expecting “just pub grub.” The menu is full-bodied and thoughtful, with dishes that go well beyond the usual. Locally sourced ingredients make another appearance here, elevating classics and giving everything a fresh, satisfying edge. It’s the kind of menu that convinces you to stay for “just one more bite”… which somehow turns into dessert. And then there’s the music. Live, lively, and never overpowering, it threads through the room like a second conversation. Some nights it’s traditional Irish tunes that make your foot tap without asking permission; other nights it leans modern, but always with heart. Either way, it pulls the whole place together into something that feels shared. The staff keep the rhythm steady, friendly, quick with a recommendation, and always ready with a bit of Galway charm. You’re not just served here, you’re looked after. It’s not just a pub, it’s a full evening in one place: great beer, great food, and music that lingers in your head long after you’ve stepped back out into the night air.

The Lighthouse Cafe

01/04/2026: Delicious vegetarian dishes, a spectacular flat white, friendly people, and it would have been worth stopping here just for the excellent flapjack. Lovely, highly recommended, and a bit off the beaten track from Galway's tourist hotspots in the Latin Quarter!
05/03/2026: Had a lovely visit to Jemi Lighthouse Cafe, a fully vegan café located close to AIB. It’s a cute and an Instagram-friendly spot with a cozy vibe. I tried the Terryland Reuben sandwich and the Salthill Squash Salad, and both were tasty. The only downside was that the portion sizes felt a bit small for the price. The place was quite busy over the weekend, but we managed to get seats on the high chairs along the window aisle. Overall, it’s a good little spot for a quick vegan snack, and I would recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
