Roost in Maynooth

We were staying in Maynooth for one night and were fortunate enough to find this wonderful venue. Bar staff were all lovely and welcoming, security guy was really friendly and helpful re recommendations for food (they had stopped serving food on site by the time we got there) and the owner was an absolute joy and took time to chat with us. Even when they needed to see my kids’ ID as kids need to be off site by 10pm (my kids are both adults but look younger than their ages), this was asked for pleasantly and discreetly. And everyone was great with my son, who is high-functioning autistic (the incredibly thoughtful owner even offered to try to find some ear defenders if anything got too loud for him!), which meant we could all relax and enjoy our night. A great venue, that offers everything from a quiet outdoor seating area to traditional music in another part of the venue to a louder more ‘nightclub feel’ in another part. All age profiles were there and having a great night, as this place offers something for everyone. Lovely relaxed vibe, can’t recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be back!

Great place for a pint and dinner.

Had the bacon burger and it was mediocre at best. I don't know how they settled on the choice of bun, but it was more like bland cake consistency. Really crumbley and somehow way to dense. Toast the bum at least. Can't really comment on the contents of the burger because it all just tasted like bland bread. Nice spot though

Nice pub, food is nice recommend the Turkey and Ham Sunday roast .

Stayed in Maynooth college so was within walking distance of the roost ! We met our bartender Mark Reynolds on day one and he was terrific. Greeted us every time like we were old friends. My husband enjoyed the Guinness but I stuck with my usual Bacardi and coke . There was a trad session on two occasions and it was brilliant! Met so many great people and really felt welcomed by everyone!
