Saint Francis Provisions in Kinsale

We had an excellent meal here. The food was outstanding, the aubergine particularly tasty. The service and atmosphere was superb, we detoured our trip to go to this restaurant and it was well worth it!

Absolutely delicious. We came for the Sunday plates and loved it. The kitchen were very accomodating of one of the guests on our table who was gluten free. The fresh ingredients were honoured and the wines by the glass selection great.

The staff were so kind and friendly, they really make you feel like you are there for an experience, food is excellent, great taste and choice, everything in my opinion was simple and excellent quality, the Kinsale larger especially since it was such a warm day was perfect

There are many reviews that say better than I can how wonderful this restaurant is. If you are in Kinsale this place is not to be missed.

This place is absolutely fantastic. We went here on a Wednesday night and it was really busy so I would recommend a booking. We got 7 dishes and all of them were really great. The tomato toast was incredible, 10/10. The steak was really good, it came in a nice chimichurri type sauce with capers and it worked really well. The anchovy and olive cocktail stick was also really great, if a little pricey, at €4 for one cocktail stick with an anchovy and 2 olives and a pepper. The cod’s head was fantastic, really fresh in a slightly funky tasting tomato sauce. The ox tongue was fantastic, really well cooked and paired with beetroot and a creamy sauce. The cheese dish was decent, the cheese was fantastic and worked really well with the honey but I personally didn’t love the pairing with the prunes, it just didn’t work that well. Also the seed cracker that was served with the cheese wasn’t to my taste, it had a strong roasty flavour that overpowered the subtly of the cheese. The dish was still tasty but we did leave behind a portion of it. The chilled rice pudding was dessert and it was fantastic, beautifully cooked al dente and it had a gorgeous blackcurrant jam on top with lemon zest and a beautiful warm cinnamon taste. Really homely and comforting. The service was fantastic, we sat at the bar and the staff were extremely attentive but never once hung around too long and were also there for our every need as soon as we asked. They explained the menu and were very patient with us as we had a lot of questions. The food also came out in great time, not too fast, not too slow. This place is worth travelling for and I will absolutely be back. We spent about €130 for 7 dishes and a coffee, no drinks. Not exactly cheap but absolutely worth the money.

A meal that I think about almost everyday still. Amazing. Go here, it’s that simple.

This restaurant was highly recommended by locals and it came through with flying colors. Everything we ordered was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the creativity of the ox tongue and beets, the aubergine, and the focaccia with romesco sauce. The service was very friendly and helpful. Overall, a deliciously delightful and memorable evening.

A great experience, the dishes are not small plates at all, the service is pleasant - everything is great! We would definitely like to come back!
