Scannells in Clonakilty

I had lunch here recently, although I had a long wait for my food, it was very tasty when it arrived! it was an incredibly busy weekend but staff were friendly and helpful!

Scannell's Bar in Clonakilty was a highlight of our trip! It’s a warm, welcoming pub with a relaxed atmosphere that’s surprisingly great for kids—we all felt completely at ease. The food was delicious, especially the local dishes, and the cozy beer garden was perfect for unwinding. Ruben, our waiter, treated us incredibly well—friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. We even met a lovely couple, Carrie and Jeff and ended up chatting for ages, which made the experience even more memorable. Scannell’s isn’t just a pub—it’s a true West Cork gem filled with good vibes and good people.

Definitely the best salads in Clonalilty and fantastic staff

Warm and cozy inside, wonderful outdoor area on a sunny day, also great undercover area outdoors. Outstanding service, the food was exceptional. Had the special of the day - goats cheese and thyme soufflé. Was there for lunch, but can highly recommend this bar!

I was in Scannells with my wife and two young daughters on Saturday. Three of us had the chowder in the starter size and my youngest daughter had chicken goujons. It was all excellent. The chowder was full of prawns, mussels and white fish. It came with a mini Irish brown bread and butter which was delicious and filling. I had a very generously poured glass of white wine. Service was prompt and friendly. Chowder and bread was €14 which is not bad when a toasted sandwich and coffee in Dublin is almost €15 currently. A really good experience in Scannells.

Superb food, feta & mozzarella salad top notch, scampi fresh & flavoursome. Superb menu, great choice to suit all tastes. Service great too. Old style pub with fire lighting, it’s the dream. A definite stop off in future.
