Best chowder in Ireland, cooked when ordered. I have eaten a lot of seafood chowder. None has come close to the chowder I had here today. Bursting with flavour, big fat prawns, mussels, quality fish, homemade brown mini-loaf & real butter. All served in a cosy atmosphere by genuinely friendly staff. Don't miss this rare gem!

Scannell’s Pub in Clonakilty was a standout. The food is clearly made with care — the soup was incredibly fresh, rich in flavor, and comforting without being heavy. The fish and chips were a highlight: crisp, perfectly cooked, and you could taste the freshness in every bite. Simple dishes, done exceptionally well. Warm atmosphere, great service, and real attention to quality. A definite must-stop in Clonakilty. I had Fish & Chips 5 times in Ireland — this version was by far and away the best. Perfect place for lunch after the Clonakilty Distillery tour.

Called in on speculation. Very glad we did.. Three of us ordered various items. We all had a soft drink @€3 each. And 1 espresso. We all had a main course. For three people it averaged out at approximately 26€ each. All of us thought it was well worth the money.

Great place to stop in for a pint and a stew. Food was amazing, service was friendly and helpful, and pints were free flowing. We went for a late lunch and came away happy campers for our choices. Definitely worth giving the food a try.
