Shipmates in Ardmore

After walking along the skiffs, it was so nice to rest and have a bite to eat at this crossroads. Quick, tasty, and enjoyable.

Ordered a group order for take away. Ordered earlier in the day. Pizzas are fab (and huge and as as good cold as they are hot IYKYK)!! Chips really good and the garlic mayo is the best. Great value for money! Food traveled well!

Overall not a bad spot for a bite to eat when in Ardmore. The Smash Burger 🍔 was unreal. Very tasty and plenty of it. Only negative is that chips are not included which is rare to see for a burger. But a seriously tasty meal. The Ballycotton Catch of the Day was "okay" Chips were fine but the bread on the fish was quite heavy and took away from the fish. The sauce was delicious but the mushy peas weren't the best. So not bad but could be great with a few tweaks. Coffees were fine, couldn't say anything bad about them so all good. The service though was fairly bad. Arrived in and sat at a table, the waitress saw us but said nothing. After a while walks past us to go outside and then asks if we are okay. I ask for a food menu please and was told I can go get one from the till area. Not the friendliest encounter and felt kind of weird. So I walked over and the second waitress who was very pleasant handed me a menu from behind the counter and I ordered and paid with her so was all good. Probably wouldn't go back as it's not normal to feel unwelcome when spending money in a restaurant.

Great little spot for casual dining, portions are big and food very tasty. Busy little spot so we ordered takeaway & they kindly rang us when it was ready. We had a marinated chicken burger, large burger but perfectly filled, nothing dripped out so easy to eat. The loaded fries is a large portion and & also delicious, again the perfect amount of sauce. Dropped the teens there after surfing, they dined in & all loved it too, Will return for sure.

Fantastic food, not to be missed, loads on the plate

Dropped in for breakfast with my two teenage children. They both had the breakfast bap which was a very generous portion and looked really tasty. I opted for a scone and coffee. The coffee is really good and the scone was lovely and fresh. The staff were polite and helpful. Recommend stopping in to Shipmates if you’re in Ardmore.

My husband and I had an amazing burger at Shipmates — so delicious, juicy, and beautifully made! The owner was incredibly kind and friendly, even gave our dog some sausages to make him feel welcome. Such a lovely spot with 100% friendly vibes. If you’re staying in Ardmore, you absolutely have to visit! ❤️
