Dropped in for breakfast with my two teenage children. They both had the breakfast bap which was a very generous portion and looked really tasty. I opted for a scone and coffee. The coffee is really good and the scone was lovely and fresh. The staff were polite and helpful. Recommend stopping in to Shipmates if you’re in Ardmore.

My husband and I had an amazing burger at Shipmates — so delicious, juicy, and beautifully made! The owner was incredibly kind and friendly, even gave our dog some sausages to make him feel welcome. Such a lovely spot with 100% friendly vibes. If you’re staying in Ardmore, you absolutely have to visit! ❤️

I had the smashed cheeseburger, and it was the best cheeseburger I've ever had in my life. I kid you not! The fish and chips was amazing as well!

We had fish of the day with chips , mushy pees & NO tartar sauce. It was ok but am afraid the owner would want to take stock, 3 different people had problems with their order, but I don’t know if there is any supervision. It’s not cheap so try harder & check the orders. Remember , you have a winter trade when u won’t have visitors. We had 20 minute wait which was ok

For Ceoalic's or people who follow a Gluten Free diet there is plenty of choice, chips, burgers, curry, even the red sauce is GF.

11/11/2025: Absolutely fantastic restaurant! The food was delicious — I had the steak, and it was perfectly cooked. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was really nice. One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! Highly recommended.
04/10/2025: Visited on a saturday nights with my partner. Friendly, welcoming staff & cosy atmosphere. Not a great choice on the menu unfortunately. Either seafood or 1 steak dish. Expensive & probly suited to seafood lovers.

09/11/2025: Perched on a cliff with great views from the bar area, worth a stop
30/10/2025: This place was such a treat on our 10-day trip. We wanted something quiet and relaxing mid-way through, and this place delivers! We enjoyed the most relaxing facial and massage, and topped it off with a hot bath overlooking the ocean. The service was phenomenal, as well as the food. Next time, I would love to come in the summer to enjoy the waterfront swimming hole and the local beach! Ardmore is VERY small and was most places were shut down in October when we went but we still really enjoyed our stay!
