I try not to be mean when I write these reviews, but, I've eaten at Michelin-starred and recommended restaurants in Asia, the United States and across Europe and I look for value for money as well as great, flavorful experiences. Not too keen on this experience. While it's attempting to celebrate local seafood, meats and produce, we found it suffered from what I call the "Jamie Oliver effect". Too much everything that smothered and didn't celebrate the central ingredient. Potatoes bravas smothered with too much salsa brava. A Crab meat brioche that buries the delicate crab flavor in too much sauce (and we nixed the truffle sauce). We ordered the fresh tomato salad and it had an incredible mildly pickled fennel in it, but, I know the season is ending, but the yellow tomatoes were mushy. Rock oysters were great. But that was the only course that celebrated and didn't overwhelm the main event. Great staff and service, but the food kind of all tasted the same towards the end.

Great spot in Dingle! We loved most of the dishes, a couple didn’t hit the mark for us. Would highly recommend the cheese board and the Mackerel tarts!

The selection of marvelous small and medium plates was terrific. Highly recommend the tuna tartare, and the crab and prawn dishes. Very nice wine selection and prompt, friendly service. A very, very enjoyable lunch today in Dingle!

Phenomenal! Friendly and knowledgeable service, great wine selection. I think the menu is seasonal as what I saw online wasn't on the menu any more but I could not recommend this place enough! MAKE A RESERVATION, or you'll be waiting hours. Still worth the wait though!!!

I think this was the best food I've had in Ireland. They had great vegetarian options, and apparently some vegan too. I had the fig dish and it was heavenly! I also really liked the lettuce gem dish because I'd never tasted anything like it! If you can't get reservations then you can just take the outside seats.

Very good tapas restaurant with a good choice of small, medium, and larger plates. The restaurant is very busy and the small dinning room can get noisy and stuffy. Luckily it stays open late so you can still catch a good dinner after a late evening of sightseeing. Enjoyed the food we ordered , especially the fresh and flavorful seafood and would definitely go back if the chance presented itself one day!

We were excited to eat at Solas after we read a number of rave 5 star reviews, so we booked in advance to make sure we'd be able to get a table for dinner during our visit to Dingle.
I'm sorry to say we were a bit underwhelmed. The staff were uniformly friendly and welcoming but the food was a mixed bag. The absolute best thing we ate was the confit tomato and toasted bread, which was superb. We also really enjoyed the morcilla and romesco sauce.
The other dishes we ordered were much less tasty - the crab in the crab tartlets had some crunchy fragments of shell in it and the pastry case wasn't very crisp, the paprika olives were a disconcerting orange and the paprika flavour was so strong you couldn't taste the olive underneath it, and the patatas bravas were very oily and had a strong taste of burnt garlic.
It's a seasonal menu so possibly we were just unlucky on this occasion? It's obviously a very popular place and loved by many, so I don't suppose the owners will lose too much sleep over a couple of disappointed punters, but we'd have loved to see more of the food reach the high standards of the tomato confit and the morcilla.
