Had dinner here recently and while I did really enjoy the food I wouldn’t say it was anything to write home about! I had the monkfish special and it was very good although very rich. We also had the hake which was nice. Cocktails were just fine but then I did overhear that the cocktail barman was off that night so perhaps we were unlucky. The service was as we have grown to expect in Ireland lately, fine. After spending €150 I’m not sure I could say it was worth it.

We have always loved this restaurant in the heart of Kinsale but didn’t know one very important detail. It is very unusual for a chef and kitchen to make every single item on the menu from scratch. This happens in this restaurant. Tom & Grannia are running a very friendly restaurant with superb food and a great cocktail bar. Our favourites are the fish “specials” but my partner always returns to the slow cooked short rib of beef and the fabulous chicken wings. Every man’s idea of heaven!! All the dishes are great and we all
Love the crème caramel brûlée and the flourless chocolate cake. Decor is cosy but modern and staff so friendly and helpful. A must when in Kinsale (and no freezer friendly quick dishes here).

Very good dinner tonight. They seemed to be a bit short staffed but we had a nice time.

In the top 5 burgers I have had. The bartender was top notch. Make a reservation.

We wanted low key but not to the detriment of the food. Fantastic oysters to kick off. The hake and the monkfish (fish of the day) were both excellent. No skimping on the portions. A good wine list. Chose the Verdejo. Great service.

We were lucky enough to get two seats at the bar as we did not have reservations. John the bartender is friendly, entertaining and took great care of us. The food and wine (sorry, no pics) were delicious. Had the aubergine dish, risotto, and short ribs. Locals Frances and Hugh provided some excellent tips for Kinsale. It felt like our local rather than a place we had just wandered into.

It is the best restaurant I have ever been to. The burger and the chicken were too good to be described. My life will never be the same after that meal. The joy it gave me was angelic, marvellous. The definition of nirvana was shown to me through taste here. ,,Love it,, is too shallow of a phrase to characterize it. Don' t think twice, you have to try it.

We ate in some wonderful restaurants in our 15 nights in the Dordogne and southwest Ireland and this was perhaps the best. Kinsale deservedly is called a "foodie" town and this was our Kinsale favorite.
We had a very comfortable, upholstered window seat on the second floor. Tables were nicely spaced. One of the best parts of the meal was our charming Gerte, but all of the waitstaff were personable and helpful. The meal was nicely spaced and we were not rushed at all, as we had been at some other places, particularly Fishy, Fishy.
Ah, the meal. We started with six oysters from right across the bay - Oysterhouse - and they were sweet, mellow and deep-cupped. We also shared some interesting and tasty aubergene fritters. The highlights were our seafood entrees. A monkfish special was thick with fennel and risotto with a paella-like seasoning. Different and really tasty. Equally good was the hake with spinach cream and salsa verde, served with and snow peas. Both fish were substantial and perfectly cooked - still very moist.
We were on a roll so we shared a BIG flourless chocolate cake with oozing chocolate inside and ice cream.
Good wine by the glass selection and excellent (if a bit expensive) specialty cocktails.
We lingered over the meal and enjoyed Gerte's conversation. Just a completely lovely evening.

We had dinner at the Supper Club and it was fantastic! The place has a really nice vibe and the service was solid. We had the monkfish which was excellent. Also, they have a nice wine list. We enjoyed a Chardonnay from South Africa. If you’re in Kinsale, definitely make a reservation here.
