Sweeney's Strand Bar in

This is a typical kind of Irish roadside pub that we would have stopped off at in the 1970s - and that's not really a compliment! It felt like going back in time, and not in a good way! The coffee is from a push button machine and completely tasteless. You can get far better at most petrol stations. I had a scone which was as dry as a bone. That was a few days ago. We were passing by again and decided to give it a second chance. My friend had a scone and I was waiting to see if it was any better than my previous experience, but it was even more dried up - it must have been sitting there since the week before! There is a grocery shop attached, with a coffee machine. That might be a better option.

Nice bar. We weren't anywhere else. Friendly and fun.

Sweeney's - a bar near Omeys Island, where there is a parking space, a shop and a petrol station. The bar is in Irish style, the service is impeccable and the food is excellent. I recommend it

A nice place to eat and drink; we stopped here for a delicious cup of coffee with warm apple pie and whipped cream... lovely! Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely brilliant lunch at Sweeney’s. The food was excellent — the lasagne was delicious, the chips were spot on, and Bridget’s panini was really tasty too. Even the side salad was lovely and full of flavour, rather than just being an afterthought. Service was excellent as well, with really friendly staff and plenty of good banter. Great food, great atmosphere and very welcoming. Top marks from us — we’ll definitely be back!

Really nice place, the service is lovely and the overall ambiance nice you the view is really great when you can eat by the windows and the staff are really nice and chatty if you talk to them. As for the food pretty good well served and the apple pie is really good.
