Great pub and atmosphere! I hope i get the chance to go there again

Brought my auntie Noreen out for a bite to eat last week and we came across this place. The soup was lovely . Nice creamy texture with a lovely dark ruby red colour shimmering through the transparent bowl it was served in. It was that good my auntie Noreen ordered two more. I haven’t seen her consume as much soup in years. There was also a terrific ceilí band playing in the corner throughout our lunch. Not to be noticed by Noreen however as she’s stone deaf but she was already overwhelmed with delight from the taste of the creamy soup. I would highly recommend you give this cracker of a pub a visit.

Great little pub in the city center. I was visiting from the states and looking for a cozy pub with live trad music where I could have a couple of pints and do some crochet. Taaffes fit the bill. It was a bit squirrely finding a seat on a drizzly November Wednesday evening around 7pm, but I imagine it would have been way more full later in the evening. I did find a seat at a larger table and would have been happy for company if anyone had asked to share, but I was left alone with my pints, crochet, people watching, and enjoyment of the music. I did not order any food and suspect I was there past food service time anyway, but Google won't let me post my review without giving the food some stars.

Typical Irish pub atmosphere and decor with live music. Very pleasant for enjoying a few pints.

Nice and vibrant pub, with a good mixture of locals and tourists. Bartenders are very friendly and the music is good as always

Had an Irish coffee on the patio on a crisp November day. The server came out to take our order and turned on the heat lamps for us. Great people watching spot and friendly service!
