Tequila Jacks in Cork

Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and the food is gorgeous.

It’s not really Mexican but it tastes good for Ireland. Everything was full of flavour but lacking some elements.

Food and staff lovely but slow to get the alcohol

Dined here yesterday evening, fantastic greeting and nice atmosphere. They took our drink orders promptly but then unfortunately forgot about us for the next 35 minutes. Had to interrupt one of the waiters to place our food order. When the food came it was OK...chicken was dry and overcooked, flavours were OK but so far as tex mex food goes just a bit meh. Left waiting again to order desert. Once ordered they again seemed to forget about us as desert took another 30 mins to arrive... In all OK not great.

Called in yesterday for a meal only to be left sitting at our table for 30min without being served, not even asked what we wanted to drink. I called to the bar to ask if we had to order there and was told sorry for letting us wait and she would send a waitress straight over. Waited another 5/7 minutes without meeting a waitress so we packed up and left. I would hate to see how long we would have been waiting if the place was busy. But I guess it was quiet for a reason.

I can't say enough about Tequila Jacks. The food and cocktails are lovely with a great range of tequila. Service is quick and the staff are so friendly. Best Margaritas in cork also..

Great place, great atmosphere, friendly staff.

Hadn't been to Tequila Jacks for a while and noticed (online) the menu had changed and one of my favourites gone! The food is as good as ever. I had quesidia for starter and I think it is the nicest thing I've ever had there - I didn't add anything to it as it was a starter. There were a mixture of starters at the table and everyone was very happy. Likewise a range of mains and everyone very happy. About half the table had dessert and very happy. The only downside to the afternoon was service was a little slow at times and at other times it felt something was forgotten - we had to ask for water a number of times before we got any and then it was one bottle for a very large table and it wasn't topped up any more. Any time we wanted extra drinks, it was hard to find someone to place the order. The bill payment was very simple and straightforward. About half of us asked if we could stay for another drink and they said fine, but to move to one table, which was fine with us and they did say if it got busier they might need to ask us to leave - and in fairness we had been there about 4 hours by this stage. Overall a fabulous afternoon and evening, good food, good atmosphere and good company.

We arrived late, park the car and as we left the parking garage we were just in front of the restaurant. Since we were tired and hungry and the restaurant look decent we go in. As we arrived all tables were full and we had to wait at the bar. Later we experienced that this part of the restaurant was the best. So were seated in an older part of the actual big restaurant. Old because the leather on the bench was worn out. Another good part of the restaurant was the waiter he was friendly and looked regular at us and other guest. So we place the order, starters and the main dishes. The starters came pretty fast I have to say was tasty, but from the portion perspective on the smaller side. The mains we got which took some more time were also good, just big and warm enough. So in summary, it's a bar, not direct central, and good to go for a beer and if you are hungry you could also eat there. I hope the continue the refresh and conserve the friendliness of the staff.
