Visiting from Canada, and looking for a temporary local, saw the high ratings. They are deserved. This is a charming pub, with several different quiet spots to settle for a drink. Fires lit on a cold evening - wonderful! Lovely, warm staff.

A lovely old pub on the hill. Filled with locals and draft beer. No food was available, though. Will visit again!

Great beer, great atmosphere. If you’re looking for food, look elsewhere, as the Abbey Tavern only serves drinks.

A typical Irish pub, with excellent beer and live music. A warm welcome. You can bring your own food, take it out, and enjoy a beer while you eat. The pub does not serve food.

Best place for meeting friends for a drink, always good music and the lights and candles create a very cosy atmosphere... great mix of people and friendly service.

Gallo & Galetti

11/10/2026: Wonderful food and great service. Best pizza in Cork!
10/10/2026: Fantastic food, great service and great for coeliacs. My family, including 5 coeliacs, had a fab time at the restaurant last evening. The food was scrumptious! I highly recommend the gluten free pizzas. Gf pasta is available too, and the chunky chips....yum. Great Italian food and great gluten free options for everything. The staff are lovely, knowledgeable and helped make it a special birthday meal for my daughter. We will be back.
