The Blooming Gorse Café in Clifden

I stopped here for lunch and had one of my favorite meals while in Ireland! Their mushroom soup was divine, never tasted a better mushroom soup. I had tea and a persimmon dessert, both were delectable and all for a good price. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made my little afternoon in Clifden really standout.

Came here today for a light lunch after seeing the high ratings here on Google Maps. I ordered a green tea and the soup of the day. The prices are great and the service friendly. Unfortunately, the tea I had was very bland (even though I left the teabag in the hot water for very long) and just tasted like hot water. Maybe it was just the type of green tea, but I was a bit surprised. The soup of the day (Thai Curry soup with noodles) was ok. It was a bit spicy but very mild - I was missing a little bit the flavour.

Amazing place, will come again!

What a beautiful wee cafe.spotlessly clean...staff so friendly and chatty. Atmosphere so good and the homemade cakes and coffee were fab..well worth a visit if your visiting clifden town
