The Connacht Hotel - Ruebens Restaurant in Galway

Stayed at the Connacht Hotel as a couple and had a really enjoyable stay. The hotel is clean, well decorated and has a welcoming atmosphere. The staff at reception were particularly helpful and hospitable, which made the check-in experience really easy. We also had breakfast for €13.50, which I thought was great value. There was a lot of variety, including a lovely Full Irish breakfast as well as a great selection of cereals and granolas. The room itself was fairly standard and the bathroom had a slightly older style but very clean and the bed was surprisingly comfortable and we both had a great night’s sleep. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again if I’m staying in Galway. Great value, friendly staff and a comfortable stay!

(update): After I contacted the hotel, the management team helped resolve the issue. If you run into any booking issues, I’d recommend reaching out directly to the Guest Relations team. They seem to handle these problems much more efficiently. (original): Honestly, communicating with the reservation team by email was quite frustrating. They were polite, but it felt like they didn’t really understand my questions. For the same dates, the price they gave me by email was almost twice the price listed on their official booking website. I really don’t understand how that could happen. When I asked for an explanation, the answer was still very vague. I also asked a simple question about changing my stay dates, but the replies kept missing the point. It made the whole process much more confusing than it needed to be. I have kept all the email records, so this review is based on my actual communication with the reservation team. I hope the hotel can improve its staff training and make the reservation process clearer for guests.

When we arrived we were given a free upgrade to a bigger suite as it was my birthday .Huge busy hotel .Staff excellent .Rooms spotless .Music in the bar that night was very enjoyable .Have to say that for such a busy hotel I was really impressed at breakfast time at the speed at which everyone was seated .Tables were cleaned .Beverages served .Loads of buffet breakfast availible and food was good too

Exceptional stay from check in to check out.

There was an error with the room reservation; our agency had booked a twin room, and we had to fight to get two beds. The receptionist was very helpful, but we ended up with a room next to an engine that hummed all night, and the mattress on one of the beds was terrible, resulting in a very bad night's sleep.

Overall, a top city hotel for a few nights. It can get a bit noisy after a while, but that's probably due to the friendly Irish mentality :-) Just be careful not to accidentally enter the breakfast room unannounced.

a little far from town but friendly service

Stayed for a soccer tournament nearby. Staff were amazing. Food was great. Kids menu lovely! Best part was definitely the leisure centre. Would definitely return
