Been away for a few months. Popped into the elm tree for Sunday lunch. Just as good as all ways, still good value, food still great except the roast potatoes, just too crispy.

You cannot fault the food but we were in on a busy night and it was over and hour and 20 for dinner to come out. This is the 2nd time this has happened. I think it's too many covers for the size of the kitchen. Saying that the food is worth a wait just not that long. Everyone really enjoyed their food.

Nice service, nice atmosphere, but you have to respect every customer and make them feel special.I must praise the food, which was delicious. The service was very friendly and pleasant. My only major dissatisfaction reffers the kitchen who forgot my order. Everyone else who came with me had already eaten, and I had to ask twice for my main course. By the time my order was given, my companions had already eaten. For this reason, we decided not to have the dessert and instead left the restaurant. Due to this inconvenience, we were not offered any discount or compensation. It's a pity too that there was no butter added to the bread served with prawns.

Had the Sunday carvery (01/02/2026) with my husband and two boys at 2pm. After a short que we were greeted at the door by a very nice man who explained the process. We waited about 20mins but the end getting your food was very fast. A bit stressful with kids. We had a lovely table and the food was lovely. However, once we were finished I felt we were totally ignored. Lots of staff around but all setting up for the sit down dinner. I eventually got up to find someone but asked if we could take their cookies away as kids were getting bored. We waited another 20 mins for two cookies to be put into a bag. The girl went to see what the hold up was but by then we were fed up so we left without. We would go back as the food was lovely but in future we will skip the carvery (or leave the kids at home!)
