The Fish Box in An daingean

We went here after google recommended here for the best fish and chips in Dingle. A family of 5 and one of us eating a child's portion. We didn't have drinks or starters or dessert. It was just shy of 100 euro plus the tip. My curry portion was small for the price. I expected better. Also my husbands meal the scampi was over cooked. The place was very cramped as people were queuing to get in from the street. The rest of the family enjoyed their meals. The food looked amazing but for the price we were very disappointed and will choose somewhere else next time.

One of the best meals of the trip! They don’t take reservations but we were able to check the wait time with the host and get a table pretty easily. The buffalo hake appetizer was incredible and our entrees were fantastic too. The staff were very friendly and had great vibes! A must go in Dingle!

Gem of a find! Food was really great with a slight twist from your regular ‘fish and chips’. About a 40min wait but they kindly took our number and phoned when ready for us. Service was very friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend

This place had such great reviews I had very high hopes for “best” fish and chips but was really disappointed. Chips: inedible (not cooked enough, no flavor, smelled like chemicals) fish: ok but not flavorful. Batter was ok. Calamari: not cooked enough and had weird skin you had to peel because you couldn’t bite it off. Shrimp: ok very fried lots of batter but not bad. Monk fish and hake had no flavor either they all just were nothing special so I didn’t eat. Left hungry. Service was excellent and the place is cute and clean so 3 stars for that. I could drink there I guess 🤤

I loved this place. The food was exquisite, with truly surprising flavors, and their fish soup was 100% excellent. The service was friendly and the atmosphere very pleasant. I will definitely return!

We ordered a share fish box, it's edible but it's not great, the dough is tasteless, not seasoned at all. The only thing that was awesome on that plate was the Calamari!!!! Despite the fact that the place was full and we had booked a table, the food was served in +-10 minutes

The fish box is so nice we always go if we are in dingel it is very nice a bit pricey but good would remcomend

This has become our favorite restaurant in Dingle. We’ve been visiting for years, and when I offered to take our recent group to another dining experience, everyone voted they wanted to have yet another meal here. The recently expanded space is wonderful and everything about this experience is spot on. From the food, staff and efficiency, truly a must stop place when you’re visiting Dingle.

We wanted to try to avoid some of the crowds and checked in at the Fish Box for an early dinner. The wait lasted around half an hour which wasn’t too long. Once seated we already had an idea of what we wanted from the menu which listed a decent selection of fried and non fried choices. The crispy chilli hake started out as a sweet and crispy dish but after a while this sauce just overpowered the meal. I think it would’ve been better to get the sauce on the side and consume to my liking. The fish box was more than enough variety to get a taste for their “submerged” seafood menu. Crisp and hot. Our server was very friendly and did a good job with updates on our order and after our food was served.
