The Galleon Restaurant in Galway

We ordered our Christmas dinner from The Galleon Restaurant this year, and wow, did they deliver! The entire process—from ordering and payment to the communication with Ger—was smooth, quick, and incredibly easy. It was a nice personal touch getting to chat with Ger herself, which made the service even more memorable. When we went to collect our meal on Christmas Eve, the restaurant was understandably busy (a good sign!), but we didn’t have to wait long at all. The food was beautifully boxed, each dish clearly labeled, and there were helpful instructions on how to reheat everything for Christmas Day. I had some concerns that the food, particularly the meat, might dry out after reheating, but I was completely wrong. The turkey and ham were incredibly moist and tender, like they had just come out of the kitchen that day. The portions were generous, and everything from the mashed potatoes and stuffing to the vegetables was spot-on. The gravy was rich and flavorful, pulling everything together perfectly. From start to finish, the food was absolutely divine, and the convenience of having everything prepped and ready to heat made our Christmas Day far less stressful. We were able to relax and enjoy the holiday without worrying about cooking! Thank you, Ger, and the entire team at The Galleon. We’ll definitely be ordering again next Christmas!

I thought that galleon is rather place where retired people come and enjoy their meals but when I visited place it was very family friendly so it was just right for me and my family, sure they could try paint walls but it's not about that 👍🙂 Food was nice especially "Big One" Staff nice. All good.

Long established restaurant with traditional Irish menu. Can be very busy as it is on the tourist trail.

A top restaurant to go to if you want a quality family meal and lovely service. Prices are reasonable (25/30€ per person). A little star less for the atmosphere just because I would have liked some Irish music in the background, but as a Frenchman I have to complain 😜. TO DO!!!

I have been to this restaurant many times over the years. The service is very quick. I had the Chicken and Ham roast. It was okay but I didn't think it was worth the cost. I would still come back as the quality is generally good.

I asked around and a employee of an Irish Grocery said go to Galleon. The Guiness Stew was top notch!! Fish and chips were great along with the made from scratch bread and butter pudding.

Met some friends for lunch here. Delighted with the amount of choices on menu. Everyone found something they liked. Comfortable seating and lovely atmosphere. Staff were great and attentive but did not rush us. Really enjoyed. Recommend a visit.
