The Hound at Hunter's Yard Mount Juliet Estate in

Had our celebration wedding dinner for my family there. It was incredible. The staff were so attentive and professional and welcoming.The food was exceptional and great value for the food you are getting there. Colm the manager on shift was excellent, lovely atmosphere all night.All round just a great night and so enjoyable. Can't wait to come back.

Excellent restaurant. I enjoyed two breakfasts and two dinners here during my stay at Mt Juliet. I'm so appreciative that the staff were very knowledgeable about vegan options and even pointed out where the vegan/vegetarian (dedicated!) menu hadn't been updated yet. Also loved the non alcoholic cocktail options.

Food was average and definitely not worth the price. Staff were lovely though, working their butts off in a very demanding environment. Definitely recommend the trip into Thomastown or Kilkenny City for a much better experience in places like Tābú or Ember.

This was a pretty good meal. Steaks were done exactly the way we asked. I will point out that the steaks have a lot of “or” in the description so read carefully. Over all the experience was very good. Also one suggestion, if you like garlic mash potatoes, they come with a minor hint of garlic and butter but we found that you can self improve them by using the butter and garlic provided with the steaks and they are exceptional if you add in enough to your taste.

We had breakfast included in our stay with the package that we booked. They had some very nice choices and the view from the table was spectacular - overlooking the pristine golf course. They are open in the evening for dinner, however, we had chosen to uber to another restaurant so I can't comment on the dinner.

We had an enjoyable dinner looking over the practice tee of the Mount Juliet golf course. Our meals were delicious: the chicken and beef burger with truffle fries. The mixed greens of broccoli and beans were lovely with chermoula dressing. But perhaps the standout dish was The Hound chocolate fondant. Wow. It was the bomb! A little bit of berry compote and vanilla ice cream complemented the oozing luscious chocolate. I had a Californian Cabernet which was very good. (J.Lohr). But we were disappointed that the restaurant couldn’t meet my wife’s request for the glass of rose listed on the wine menu. Apparently, the stock had run out and no other rose could be found. Interestingly, we stopped off at the bar in the Manor House (where we were staying) to find rose available. And the one listed. A quick pop down to the neighbouring Manor House would have brought a smile to my wife’s face over dinner. We were disappointed in the state of uncleanliness on the neck of the water jugs. We noticed it across 2 other jugs on adjacent tables. I suggested to the maitre’d they review the cleaning process for their jugs.

I had the Fregola Pasta (not pictured) and the flavor was amazing, I wish I could have it again! All of our food was so delicious and it was a beautiful place.
