Love this welcoming pub. My first meal in Galway was here and it made a lasting impression. We had some seafood stew and pints. We went back for dinner later in the trip and then again for music and some hot whiskey.

Ordered the Wild Atlantic Seafood Chowder, but it was really too salty for my liking. The staff was gracious enough to take it back and we tried the bruschetta instead. Food was ok but the service was great!

The King's Head is a true gem in the heart of Galway! The welcoming and authentic atmosphere makes it an unmissable place for anyone who wants to live a 100% Irish experience. The historic structure adds a touch of charm, with wooden interiors and period details that tell the centuries-old history of the pub.
The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to recommend a craft beer or one of the delicious dishes on the menu. And what about the kitchen? The burgers are succulent, the soups hot and comforting, and the oysters super fresh! Every bite is a discovery of local flavors.
Another highlight is the live music: every evening the King's Head hosts talented musicians who create a vibrant and engaging atmosphere, making each visit unique. It is the perfect place to relax with friends or for a romantic evening, with the guarantee of a warm welcome and contagious energy.
In summary, the King's Head is not just a pub, but a real cultural experience in the heart of Galway. Highly recommended!

The place given to Charles I's executioner is now a pub, and it's actually spacious both vertically and horizontally, with plenty of seating.
Ordered Blood Red Ale and Boxty! Boxty had excellent beer as well. I visited during the day, but I plan to visit at night during my stay. The interior is also elaborate, so if you have time, you should go upstairs.

Great beer, excellent food and what a night of music. This is an upmarket pub, good for a big night out where strangers quickly become friends.

Stopped by this evening for drinks and dinner after reading about it online. We were pleased with both the drinks, Aperol Spritz, and a pint of Guinness. Once seated (after a 20-minute wait), we ordered the fish and chips as well as the farmer friendly chicken breast with vegetables. Both entrees were served in short order and brought to the table hot. Wonderful meal and service. Highly recommend.
