The Kings Head in Galway

Typical pub located in the center of Galway, it has a bar area separate from the restaurant room. It offers typical Irish cuisine, both meat and fish. We tried their vegetable soup of the day, the bruschetta with mushrooms and especially the cod fish & chips; the dishes are plentiful, tasty, tasty, excellent!! Guinness on tap is a must, but the choice of beers and spirits is vast. Very welcoming atmosphere, very kind staff. Bill in line with Irish pub prices, around 35-40 euros per person. Absolutely recommended!

I would have expected Irish Folk as live music, but I felt uneasy as soon as I set up the loudspeaker batteries and whatever it was - it had about 120 speakers, so it was unbearably loud and caused mass exodus from the hall. Apart from that, the pub is decorated worth seeing, we couldn't rate the service and food - we picked it up at the counter and the fork would have flown out of our hands when the sound was on.

First time visitor and it was great, abit of a wait for food but well worth it.

Great beer, excellent food and what a night of music. This is an upmarket pub, good for a big night out where strangers quickly become friends.

Stopped by this evening for drinks and dinner after reading about it online. We were pleased with both the drinks, Aperol Spritz, and a pint of Guinness. Once seated (after a 20-minute wait), we ordered the fish and chips as well as the farmer friendly chicken breast with vegetables. Both entrees were served in short order and brought to the table hot. Wonderful meal and service. Highly recommend.
