This is the pub you want to go to if you are in Galway. Great food, which was well priced, staff could not have been more helpful, and the atmosphere was electric.

Quite a busy place. It gives you a sense of community. The food was well prepared and served quickly. The atmosphere is incredible and there was not a long table wait.

At The Kings Head in Galway I ordered chowder soup, which was served with bread and butter. The service was extremely friendly and the food was served surprisingly quickly - a big plus. What was particularly positive was that we were given a carafe of water free of charge and without ordering, which is not a given. The chowder soup itself was very tasty and contained different types of fish, which made it clear that the soup was made with a lot of care. You could taste that it had been boiled for several hours, which gave it a pleasant depth of flavor. However, it was a little too salty, which slightly spoiled the overall experience. With a price of €13.95, the soup is on the higher end, but this is justified by the quality and friendly service. Overall, I give it 4 out of 5 stars – a clear recommendation with minimal potential for improvement.

Great beer, excellent food and what a night of music. This is an upmarket pub, good for a big night out where strangers quickly become friends.

Stopped by this evening for drinks and dinner after reading about it online. We were pleased with both the drinks, Aperol Spritz, and a pint of Guinness. Once seated (after a 20-minute wait), we ordered the fish and chips as well as the farmer friendly chicken breast with vegetables. Both entrees were served in short order and brought to the table hot. Wonderful meal and service. Highly recommend.
