We just returned from the oak room, it was delightful from start to finish.
My husband and I travelled feom Omagh and it was well worth the drive,lovely staff,wonderful food, great ambience and reasonably priced with an excellent cocktail list.
We will definitely be back - thanks Laura and staff x

We had the loveliest Mothers day meal on Sunday. The food was as always fantastic - we had the Mothers Day set menu which had a fantastic selection of dishes. We opted for homemade root vegetable soup, goats cheese arancini, steak & pork belly & finished with apple & cinnamon crumble & a brownie. Every thing was cooked perfectly, making it a very special mothers day. Thanks to Nobby, Laura & team for looking after us so well.

Our first time eating in the Oak Room and we loved everything about this wonderful restaurant. On arrival we were warmly greeted and seated, I chose the chef’s specials which were delightful and my wife chose off the menu which was equally delicious. Great service and a really lovely evening, I would highly recommend.

I visited the Oak Room last Friday night with friends for a suprise birthday party. It is such a wonderful place. The staff are all really nice, friendly and helpful. The food is always delicious they also have a great selection of cocktails and wine. We had a ball. Thanks to everyone for making our night so enjoyable and yes we will definitely be back!

This was our family treat & we brought our 5 ye daughter who has a metabolic condition for an even meal. Well absolutely wow!!!
We had pre viewed our meals & knew what we wanted but when I saw the specials board, it was such a difficult decision but it didn’t fail.
I had the duck wontons & partner had ham terrine- absolutely beautiful light & full of flavour. My partner always uses salt & pepper but he never asked for same - we both agreed every mouthful was delightful. I had the sea trout with saffron & he had venison. I never had venison & such a beautiful tender meat. We are not desserts as I have a nut allergy so decided on cocktails. He wanted a Long Island tea & our host wonderful lady said no problem. My partner said it was just perfect. Our daughter has requested to go back the next day - she said her chips were the best chips ever & that’s a great statement from her especially a 5 yr.
I honestly cant recommend this place enough - wonderful for a couple & even nicer for family

The staff here are warm and friendly, extremely considerate and courteous. So that’s a great start. And then you can consider the ambience which is inviting and unpretentious with simple decor that still has enough to draw the eye to various areas of the space. The cocktails and wines available seem to offer choice without being overwhelming - another plus.
The food here is, naturally, the star. Having eaten here twice now, I can safely say that it’s our favourite restaurant we’ve discovered since moving to Cavan 15 months ago. The food is not flashy or overly complicated. Instead, they make relatively simple food with good, fresh ingredients, and the result are dishes that are packed with satisfyingly rich and complementary flavours. Nothing feels too heavy or ostentatious, and we have left clean plates on both occasions.
It’s a cliché, isn’t it, that you get what you pay for. The balance here feels right, and this evening, three of us had a three course meal with drinks for under €180. That feels like excellent value for the quality of the food and the impeccable service.

Booked a table well in advance which is advisable. The food is spectacular, duck confit tartlet, braised pork cheek as starters, great blend of flavours & textures. Steak & halibut as mains..steak was on the tough side and the fish slightly overcooked but the accompaniments helped ease any disappointment. Strawberry tart with elderflower sorbet was really good, sorbet was gorgeous. Drinks orders were a bit slow but not the end of the world. Overall great food with a few minor let downs. Definitely worth a visit again. Have been back 25/01/25 and again food was great, definitely now on my recommended places to eat. Great atmosphere and staff are friendly and approachable…

Booked in due to a poor F&B experience in the Cavan Crystal Hotel the previous night and we were very happy we did! Arrived with my Dad, Sister, Niece and Nephew and were very well looked after. Xmas set menu was excellent. I had the Game Pie and Cod specials followed by the Baked Alaska and all put a smile on my face. Salted Caramel Espresso Martinis and Amaretto Sours were ten out of ten! Excellent job by everybody involved.
