The food was just amazing and so tasty 😋

Mushroom soup yummy and wholesome, pints of Guinness zero perfectly poured with care, Amy then recommended the Sticky Toffee Pudding without hesitation. Im not going straight to heaven anyways but this was sinfully finger licking delicious and I was then treated to the best Calypso coffee I have ever tasted. I've eaten here the last two days and all the food and staff are first class but in a country that has somewhat lost its cead mile failte je ne sais quoi, it is such a delight to watch someone so absolutely deadly at their job. The lady from Croyden is a gem and The Local and Dungarvan are lucky to have Amy and all the crew at The Local. Greatly appreciated by myself and Buddy.

Myself and my husband visited last Sunday of May 2025. Googled a nice place to eat and this came up.. Extremely happy customers .. Food- delicious (empty plates), customer service- excellent, Price- just perfect.. the staff were friendly and one guy even came down for a chat. We were passing through from Cork to Waterford and heading home to Portlaoise.. we just wish this place was nearer to Portlaoise!!! If we are ever in Dungarvan again, we will definitely visit!!

Twice in one week!!! The food in the Local is excellent. Not only is it so fresh, it's well presented and very tasty. The staff operate on another level, so happy & helpful.....Trust me, all this doesn't happen by chance. The owners Helena & Donnochadh make this a Dungarvan destination. Pop in & say hello, you won't be disappointed

First class restaurant especially in the sunshine. Hard to get a table outside. Staff very pleasant. Food delicious great selection portion very good. Would recommend this place.

Just stopped here for a drink and take a rest. Beautiful bar with nice ambience and music.

This was my 3rd time here with my sister. We went in around 12.30 I ordered some kind of Deise burger meal and my sister ordered fish. The food came out straight away which was a giveaway. The burger was like 3 chicken dippers real processed dry in a bun it was definitely a reheat the fish was the same . Put me off won't go or recommend this place again such a pity as it was nice before

Heard good things about the local so thought I would give it a go . Really nice atmosphere as I stepped in from the freezing temperatures and the pub was busy for an early Thursday evening . Ordered a Heineken, ordered the Mexican burger with a wine . Burger was great as were the home cooked chips and drinks were good . Certain places I visit I don’t feel relaxed or welcomed when working away but what a breath of fresh air here. Thank you team for a lovely experience and I will probably come back tomorrow as it was that nice
