Dropped into The Local for some food and was not disappointed - good food - really good service and stayed for the music - fabulous singer backed by a really excellent group of musicians - good pints too! I would highly recommend

Dungarvan is full of great little places and this is a little star amongst them. We had a great meal, great service and very well priced. It is a little tight inside, but that doesn't take away from the experience. Good menu, wine list is a little bit out of date in that there were a few things we asked for they didn't have, but it didn't spoil the experience, great night.

Eat here previously and wasn't up to scratch, seafood, poor. BUT had steak mash gravy and veg today, it was very very good.

Shamrock

29/11/2025: Went to Shamrock for breakfast and lunch two days in a row because it’s that good. Great portion sizes, good value, friendly owners, and the fish and chips are excellent, the fish is so fresh. I’ll definitely be making a return!
21/11/2025: Without question, the Shamrock has the best breakfast/fry up in Dungarvan and an excellent menu overall. The staff are always absolutely lovely and the atmosphere is always comfortable and welcoming. On many a day, a chat with a few locals is often likely and it's always a pleasure. Excellent food, lovely place and one of the nicest places to spend some time. A must for anyone passing through and a lovely treat if you're local.
