The Long Valley in Cork

I haven't been in the Long Valley for quite some time. I dropped in for a bite to eat. I had the chicken curry which was large. It could do with a bit more spice but I expect they are making it to suit most people. It was very nice though. The staff were friendly and the service was very quick. I left well fed. I recommend their sandwiches which are famous around Cork.

Lovely pub with genuinely friendly staff. The Beamish is top class and the sandwiches are legendary. Grade A traditional Cork pub.

Fantastic city centre pub bar in Cork, real old world, hasn't changed in years, a real Cork tradition and a must visit. Good hot food served daily.

I visited the Long Valley over 2 years ago while I was visiting family and I'm glad I went again this month while over in Cork. Looking at the pub from the outside it doesn't look like the kind of pub you might visit or a typical tourist place, but if your looking for food and a drink it should be a place to visit. It's mainly known for its 'Doorstop Sandwiches " and soups and for good reason. The bread is soft and think, packed with what ever filling you choose, ( the Corn Beef sandwiches are meant to be a favourite) and the Soup was amazing. Best iv ever had. Normally soups can be, at worst flavoured water but this soup ( soup of the day was Vegetable) was very thick and full of flavour. I could have eaten more of it along with the slice of Soda bread. *Picture of sandwich was after I eat half. I walked away happy and full.
