The Long Valley in Cork

One of the old historical bars left in the city center.... lots of old memorabilia. A great place to grab a beer and think of times past

A very cozy atmosphere, super tasty and good food, the food was really great and highly recommended.

Busy night, high tide. Strong odour from toilets. 1st time to experience that in many years supporting the bar.

A place not to miss even in cork. The sandwiches are incredible, the environment great.

It really is a hit or miss with the food, the stew is sometimes amazing, sometimes it's all fatty meat and cold, but place is always full of people who are regulars, the men bar staff are friendly, the young girls look like they hate their job !

Despite the rise of the gastro pubs, this is still the best pint and sandwich combo going. Fantastic filling sandwiches served with a minimum of fuss and some of the best stout you will ever drink. A Cork institution, and rightly so. RECOMMENDED

I visited the Long Valley over 2 years ago while I was visiting family and I'm glad I went again this month while over in Cork. Looking at the pub from the outside it doesn't look like the kind of pub you might visit or a typical tourist place, but if your looking for food and a drink it should be a place to visit. It's mainly known for its 'Doorstop Sandwiches " and soups and for good reason. The bread is soft and think, packed with what ever filling you choose, ( the Corn Beef sandwiches are meant to be a favourite) and the Soup was amazing. Best iv ever had. Normally soups can be, at worst flavoured water but this soup ( soup of the day was Vegetable) was very thick and full of flavour. I could have eaten more of it along with the slice of Soda bread. *Picture of sandwich was after I eat half. I walked away happy and full.
