One of the best pints of smithwicks on this island of ireland . Great service and nice local atomsphere . Friendy folk about when i was there. Card or cash accepcted . Lovely creamy pints of both guiness and the local red ale smithwicks , which is firm favourite of mine. Well worth a visit or stop on your way through. Plenty parking across the road . Crisps/ choc snacks and peanuts are the staple food to accompany these creamy pints and drinks. Have spent and hour or so here on 5 diffrent occasions and the pints were always a dream.

Nice old traditional bar. Very clean and friendly staff. We were staying at the hotel across the road and on the Thursday we noticed a board had been put up outside The Sceilp Inn saying 'Live music on Thursday night'! After dinner we made our way over for a drink and to enjoy the music. All was quiet inside and when we enquired about the live music we were told that their musician had died some time back and they were finding it difficult to find another one! This is totally unacceptable False Advertising!

14/03/2024: excellent vibe, food and service! stumbled upon this place while looking for another cafe and so glad we did! very beautiful salubrious cafe for breakfast. they have a cocktail menu too, i imagine it would be vibey at night. we were a group of 5, an awkward size but they kindly accommodated us. the waiter Bryma looked after us. coffee was lovely, and for food i had the halloumi sandwich, it was divine !!! waffles are delish too. rest of the group ordered breakfast baps and they were very pleased. totally recommend this place !!

19/02/2024: I was so impressed by the kindness and hospitality in Kilkenny Design’e restaurant today I had to leave a review. I arrived at 2.20 on a Monday afternoon with a hungry, crying, tired 2 year old which is always very tense when our and about. The staff at the restaurant went to great lengths to be exceptionally kind with both of us, three staff went out of their way to help out with trays and gently ensure we were comfortable and I felt so welcomed. The food was really lovely, fresh and tasty and we were able to enjoy it all the more thanks to warmth of the staff that allowed my son to calm down. It was my first time back here in years and I will definitely be coming more often after such a rare experience of exceptional hospitality
