The Skeff in Galway

Authentic pub with fantastic food! Service was rather mediocre.

The Skeff is part of the The Skeffington Arms Hotel. Food was very good. The Seafood Chowder and a couple of (non!) Stout beers from other parts of Ireland were a welcomed change of pace. IPA's, actually. One from Letterkenny, and the other from Kill, County Kildare. Other than the service being just a tad slow, it was (overall) very good. And the live music was magical this night. Okay...Not exactly magical, but covers from bands/artists that everyone knows, sung by a group of a youngish band of 3 called The Groev. They did a great job, actually.

Food wasn't good. Pint glass was filthy. It still had lipstick on it from the previous user. It was vile. Service was good and sorted the problem. We wouldn't return here because of our experience ro be honest. My chicken wings were decent enough but my wife's stir fry pork was awful.

Great food, and a fantastic selection of beer and spirits!

We had breakfast here a few times now and it has yet to let us down, nice price as well....

We ate so well that we were considering applying for Irish citizenship afterward. But we would like to welcome you to France in return so we can give you just as warm a welcome. See you soon!

Milo served us food tonight on a very busy night, absolutely lovely young man and communicated clearly even with the loud music playing! Thank you Milo! Also they do a gorgeous pint of Guinness!

Great pub with great food, helpfull staff and real value for money. Only downside is they don't hold tables for bookings so when you arrive if there isn't a table you need to wait and almost keep walking around to you find a table but it's a large premises and there is nearly always a table free. There was live music most nights and a table quiz one evening. Lovely interior and a great location.

We can upon this restaurant by accident. The reviews were so so, but we thought we would take a risk since so many of the restaurants in the area were fully booked. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was simple but good, better than expected. It was good value for the money.
