Beautiful food and very pleasant staff

Speckled door is in a fantastic location with amazing views and helpful and kind staff. Also the food menu is fantastic.

During my working week in bandon, i was tried lots of recommended places to eat, the speckled door was the last on the list and visited on my last evening. It was very busy with families, which is nice in repsect but not in others, kids running around. the service was a little slow and food ok, same price as some of the other restaurants i had visited on the evenings prior, so felt the value wasnt as good.. Id recommend for families but not a business meal. Im not sure for us, the drive down from Bandon was worth it.

Super tasty chowder with delicious bread on the side. There was a bit of a staff shortage at the moment, but that was resolved perfectly by letting the customers handle things a bit more. This kept things running smoothly. A great find! Definitely go try this chowder!

A great spot to stop by if you’re around Kinsale. I dropped in after going to heads end. What a view! The service was super friendly and the chowder was the best I had in Ireland so far. A must go.

So, I think Speckled door is a lovely place, it’s super convenient place for west cork tourists who might look for a quiet refuge during the summer. The ocean view on the kinsale harbor also spectacular, especially with sea cliffs and green countryside hills… BUT! The food isn’t that great. There isn’t that much care or attention on how the food is created, For example; The chicken stir fry I ordered was overly salty, and the burger was overcooked and black… And the waiting time was kinda long but that’s forgivable during peak tourist season. just be mindful of the food, that’s all!

Good place and beach view. Good for family time

Excellent restaurant! The fish and chips are fresh with a delicious homemade tartar sauce! The desserts are flavorful and tasty! The setting is beautiful, overlooking the Irish coast. I highly recommend this restaurant!
