The Strand Inn in Dunmore east

We came for a quick lunch and everyone loved their dishes. Check out the views, go for a quick swim, watch the ravens and try the hot coco.

The Strand Dunmore East is a perfect blend of a beautiful location and friendly staff, in particular Stacey. The bar food was excellent and the breakfast perfect. Can’t wait to go back.

We didn't stay at the hotel. We had a meal outside and it was a pleasure to be able to bring my dog.

Just at the beach, it was a wonderful stay. With the sun outside, the vibe is great. There are several beaches nearby for a swim. Also stunning cliff walks. Staff is friendly.

Fabulous spot right by the sea. Gorgeous views over the bay with delicious seafood. Lovely hotel with helpful staff. Looking forward to our return.

Location is amazing. Really nice welcoming place. Only stopped in for a drink but food looked good and plenty of seafood options on the menu. The background music was fab and the pint was good. Plenty of staff on so I imagine food service was also good. Will return and hopefully stay , might be able to give it 5 stars then.

I was here at a family function and the food was excellent but the young waiting staff were just great. A number of coeliacs were well accommodated too. Will definitely be back

We went there for lunch/dinner on Sunday the 11th. All 6 of us ordered the same things: Seafood Chowder (€5) Seafood Pie (€24) Both were delicious, served piping hot, with brown bread, broccoli and green beans, and sliced roasted potatoes. The chowder and pie were filled with lots of fish, some in large chunks. Very hearty and you will leave very full. Washed down with pints of Guinness (€6), and glasses of Merlot (€7.50), Chardonnay (€8.50), Pinot Grigio (€8), and Rioja (€10.50). Desserts were Brownie & Salted Ice Cream Sundaes and Apple Crumbles (both €5). Sundaes are really chocolatey and the crumbles came with ice cream and cream. Both delicious - get both and share. Located right on the water with fantastic views, right at the end of the main road into town. Park as soon as you see a spot coming in as the town is busy and there is limited spaces the closer you get to the inn. Very friendly and helpful staff add to the experience. Highly recommended - worth the drive from Waterford.

The Strand is a must for any holiday makers visiting Dunmore East. It has an enviable location overlooking the bay, serves great food and is a lively spot. Irritatingly, their service is sleepy and sluggish (based on two visits my wife and I have made in the past few days). On both occasions the service was desperately slow and waiter seemed completely disinterested to the extent that for the first time in my life, today - and with a guilty conscience - I decided not to leave a tip! I care a lot about supporting small Irish business but with so much in its favour, The Strand is shooting itself in the foot! In the tourism business, there is no room for the level of complacency we experienced on two separate occasions this week. I like this spot and will return sometime. Many others will not!

Went for bar lunch and was able to sit outside. Service was fast but I would advise getting in early on a sunny day. Food was good, I had fish which was breaded, I prefer battered, my only quibble.
