The Tavern Bar & Restaurant in Westport

Return visit and it’s lovely to see that nothing has changed. Top service amazing food. My husband had the pan seared Seabass and I had probably the best steak I have ever had. The desserts were also amazing. Sorry I didn’t get the name of the lady and gentleman that served us. Literally nothing would be too much trouble. Look forward to my next visit.

Pub food ++ The place is out in the middle of nowhere, but people come here to eat, and it's easy to see why. The food is very good and the portions are more than generous (a bonus for finding a local beer on tap). If you're in the Newport area, go there!

Whenever I’m in Westport, I make sure to eat here at least once – they serve the best beef stew! Delicious, full of tender meat and veggies, perfectly cooked with Guinness. Simply divine. Highly recommended – but be sure to reserve a table!

Had a lovely experience at the Tavern. I ordered the crab meat from the ‘open plates’, it was truly incredible! The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere in the outdoor area was really nice, a great place to sit out. It’s set in a lovely location very close to the base of Croagh Patrick, would highly recommend visiting!

Me and my wife had dinner at The Tavern two nights running as the food was really good there and it was within walking distance from our accommodation. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Service was very quick and the food was awesome. We will definitely visit again!

I asked the staff could they do a variation of one of the meals on the "Specials" board the lovely young lady who was waiting on our table, came back and said yes the Chef can do and I had the most delightful Sea Bass with Scallops in a sauce to die for, the Chef, really excelled him/herself, the two young ladies who were waiting on our table were very courteous and polite, we will be back for more good food.
