Discovered by chance during a road trip, a very nice discovery. The service is very attentive and the garlic mussels are excellent, as are the desserts.

What a sensationally homely way to refuel after an up down on Croagh Patrick. The Guinness hit the spot, oysters the best we tasted in Ireland and remainder of the seafood platter sourced not a few miles from where we sat.

A top-notch experience. The Guinness stew was simply divine. The service was very fast despite the restaurant being packed, and the staff were extremely friendly. It was a wonderful experience for my first Irish dinner.

Me and my wife had dinner at The Tavern two nights running as the food was really good there and it was within walking distance from our accommodation. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Service was very quick and the food was awesome. We will definitely visit again!

Don’t be put off by the outside garish colour. Inside is clean,comfortable and the staff are extremely welcoming. The main thing is that the food is of the highest standard. A hidden gem but you need to book. If you are in Westport you must have a meal here.
