We ate there this week and frankly, I didn't regret the trip. The service was exceptional, as was the food. The portions were generous.

Had a fantastic experience at The Tavern Bar & Restaurant in Murrisk. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, especially after a drive along the Wild Atlantic Way. The food was absolutely excellent — fresh, full of flavour, and generous portions. Seafood dishes are especially unreal. Go try the sea food chowder ( award winning). Staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive the whole time shout out to the indian waiter. Lovely mix of traditional Irish pub charm with high-quality restaurant food. Definitely one of those places you’d happily travel back for. Highly recommended if you’re around Mayo.

Lovely welcome and delicious food at good prices. I'd the oysters to start and chowder for my main. Bonus they do Guinness zero on tap.

Had a very tasty and enjoyable meal at the Tavern after the hike - good menu options (extra brownie point for multiple vegetarian options! 🙌), fresh produce, cosy space; super friendly and accommodating service from Alex topped our experience. We were delighted to have stopped here! Very much reccomended 🤗

Lovely, quaint tavern. The food was served quickly and was delicious. I had the Irish casserole with mashed potatoes, and while I would call this a beef stew, it didn't disappoint. Much like the traditional Irish stew we've had elsewhere in Ireland. Great service and warm, comforting food!

Our small wedding at The Tavern was nothing short of perfection. I’d recommend this venue to anyone seeking an elevated tavern experience in an incredible, scenic location in the west of Ireland. Our guests still rave to us about the food! The lamb, the sea bass, the stuffed chicken, the pistachio cheesecake, and everything that graced our table was flawless. Several guests told us it was the best wedding meal they had ever had! I recommend requesting the olive tapenade. The manager was an absolute dream to work with and essentially worked as our wedding coordinator for the day. She went above and beyond in every way, from decorating the room (we hadn’t planned on adding anything!) to coordinating our band. I didn’t doubt for a moment that she’d take care of everything. We opted to have our meal in the upstairs dining room (perfect for a party of 40–50 people) and our band in the pub downstairs after dinner. This was perfect for us, as it allowed for a seamless transition from dinner to music and dancing. Our guests were able to relax at the bar or a table right next to the dancing area, which allowed for dancers or mingle-at-table types to effortlessly interact with one another—something that’s often missed at other weddings! And if you’re looking for an impressive view, you can’t get much better than the drive out to The Tavern. Croagh Patrick towers above Clew Bay, providing plenty of photo opportunities en route to the venue. At the restaurant itself, there’s a lovely outdoor seating area with views of the bay, and the interiors are a lovely mix of dark woods with light walls—pub-style, but bright enough for your wedding day! And a pink pub? Can you get any cuter than that? Overall it was a 10/10 experience and our dream wedding day. Our only regret is we can’t do it all again.

24/04/2026: Franco’s Fullhouse makes me want to set traps for wild boar. I want to hunt big game in a foreign country without a hunting license. I need it
24/04/2026: A great waiter really put on a show for me made the pizza right under my nose really made me feel at home he had really nice hair and some stunning eyes. He was about 5’6 or around that with fairly big deltoids and a decent size forehead. He knew loads of Irish was telling me how he has a savage Irish teacher and has great passion for Irish he thought me the phrase “pog mo hon” really nice lad will definitely be coming back☘️🎉🥳
