The Universal in Galway

Best restaurant in Galway, in fact best restaurant in Ireland hands down. Has been consistently brilliant since it opened thanks to Conor the owner. Atmosphere is buzzy and great people watching. I would highly recommend.

Nice bar and unique to Galway. Good craft beer and cocktails on offer.

We hadn't eaten here in a while but really enjoyed it. Firstly it's not cheap but the source good ingredients and good produce well cooked is never going to be cheap in Ireland. We tried 3 starters the pick of which was the beetroot. I had the John Dory as a main which was lovely. Everything was very well seasoned. They've a great selection of wine including our favourite Rose Cava. The only minus I'd have was the new York style cheesecake whilst delicious was just too small. Overall it was excellent.
